re-watching, or i guess re-re-re-re-watching, justice league and i really hope batman: arkham knight is not the last we see of this franchise even though it might be the last arkham game. who would you like to see take batmans place? superman, the flash,
green arrow? there are plenty of options, but i think those have the best chances, and most recognizable cities after gotham. maybe we could get a full on justice league game, but that'd be a bit too much of a fluster cuck...unless they eased into it over
    multiple games.

    :)

  3. Poor Harley. (Harley's Revenge spoiler)

Yeah he says that far too often - he's even doing more recordings now for DC Universe Online, after he said Arkham City was his last Joker session. And even THAT was after he said Arkham Asylum was his last lol.

I try to keep an ear out for all the thug conversations but I didn't hear that one! Very interesting indeed!

Thats a good question, and you are probably right about it being Superman though. IMO, it would depend on the new hotness DC Comic movie out at the time. Which could be the Flash, Wonder Woman or Aquaman.

Personally I would love to play as the evil villain Black Adam. I've always wanted to play as the villain in a video game, but hell I would be happy playing as Shazam against Black Adam. Something new and refreshing, The Rock has the star power to bring
Black Adam to the casual masses. lol. But it will probably be dumb Superman.

Im also holding out hope for a GOOD Teen Titans game.

  5. shazam could be interesting, if they let you switch between billy batson and shazam at will and they used kid mode to solve puzzles and maybe some stealth. i would not want the rock version of black adam, regardless if he's good in the role. the thing that
made the arkham series so great is that they use inspiration from the comics and animated series, and ignoring the baleman movies.

aquaman could be neat, too, if only to see how they'd do an underwater world and the combat. plus black manta would be a great villain.

  6. Whenever people say Shazam I think of the Wizard. Just because DC can't put the name on a cover doesn't mean they should have changed it from Captain Marvel.

Personally I think we are more likely to see a Green Arrow game, similar in style to the current Batman ones.

The problem with DC characters is that they trend to being over-powered. The Arkham games work so well because at the end of the day Batman is just a normal man, plan incorrectly and the thugs in the game can take you down.

How could you do that with Superman? You either have to depower him or give everyone else a power up, like the super-pill in Injustice: Gods Among Us.

I don't see why they would have to have enemies as powerful as Superman to make a Superman game interesting. Traditionally his biggest rival is a normal, powerless, intelligent, bald dude.

You could create some truly interesting and fun game mechanics around detecting/reaching/saving people from disparate terrorist-style attacks, using Supe's array of abilities, and around detecting/disrupting potential threats and future attacks and such
    - maybe as Kent. ~shrug~

It just takes a bunch of bright devs to do something like that. Since the Arkham series introduced a fistful of new game mechanics for stealth, and original fun gadgets for attacks, and freeflow combat, and navigating the environment. Rocksteady are well
placed to make a boring super hero interesting.

Even the hero who is the equivalent of the "everything-proof shield" in playground warfare. {XD

  9. superman would be tough to make feel vulnerable without making every guy he fights superpowered or have kryptonite bullets...but like he mentions in the jlu series finale before while fighting darkseid, he always holds back on everyone he fights, so it'd
be possible for him to go up against normal grunts and supervillains alike...

i think green arrow or the flash would be the best candidates. ga is basically batman with ranged attacks and a kickass goatee, and the flash has batman's scientific mind.

If you want to mess up Superman's day as a villain, IMHO, don't turn up in a metal costume of super strength and go one on one with him. Or pop a pill of powerdom. You will lose.

As a villain, you set bombs on random planes around the world. Set nukes on all seven continents, start riots in streets, and try to make the Man of Steel's head explode with the sheer weight of decisions he has to make in who to save and who to sacrifice.

How does the golden boy, ridiculously moral super dude deal with those choices when he can't save everybody? First-person look at that in a game for me please! Yus. =)

Give the player super-speed: a nice slow-time mechanic, super-strength: a nice rumbling pad of strain mechanic, X-Ray vision, super-hearing utilising surround sound, free-flight... ooh, great distances and scenic expanses on next gen technology. Yees.

Imagine flying at insane speeds over DX12 high res beautifully rendered landscapes to the sound of the rapid heartbeat of a civilian in distress... getting closer... sonic boom... closer... arrive, slow time, grab bullet, launch it at an escaping villain's
car fuel tank, smile at rescued civvie, wink at the camera and fly off to save another.

There are a litany of failed hero games that followed the "powerful dudes against powerful dudes" in successive areas enemies get stronger, rendering game a punch-a-thon of button-mash-tastic-ness. Flop. Movie tie-ins that blow.

Rocksteady can do better post-Arkham series. If it's even in the cards. =)

  11. regardless of whoever may or may not star in whatever city they might protect in a theoretical rocksteady dc game...can we at least get some civilians walking around? it must be tiresome for the devs to think of reasons why a city is full of just bad guys
running around. sure it's great for a straight beat 'em up vigilante like batman in a corrupt city like gotham, but for heroes like the flash or superman set in relatively happy peaceful cities of central city and metropolis, it's harder to explain away villains
running amok. i guess i want something more like a gta, but on the other side of the law.
