    Bought s new Xbox one today. About 5 hours ago. Still haven't played it yet as I'm having issues with installing the very first update. Talked to Xbox support online, zero help at all. Have done all the steps that have been recommended and tried the offline
    install option too. No luck. I literally had less problems getting divorced than what this console has given me in the last 5 hours!!!!!

    My Day One was tickety boo last night, recieved the update day before no issues.

    Hey guys i just got my new Xbox one S

    But I'm having issues with my internet connection, so I can't do the day one update.

    I saw videos on YouTube about offline update.

    Can I use this method to do the day one update?

    Do you get any sort of error code ("0x00000000", "E200 ...")? Connect your console directly to your network with an ethernet cable to minimize any download errors. I do not know what steps you have tried to fix your problem.

    Since you just bought your Xbox today, you can try returning it to the store for an exchange.

  5. Thanks for replying! I've already tried the Ethernet cable. Xbox support literally said to exchange it, however I've noticed that every time I get an error and restart the update I get a 1-3% increase over the last time. Which is really weird

    if you want to play sometime in the next few days then just exchange your console. No word from Microsoft on this and it's been happening for 2 weeks now.

  7. You say you have issues - what issues and how do they present themselves?

    What is on your screen?

    What are you met by when turning console on - and did you confirm to do update?

    Do you have contact at all online?

    Usually you cannot change settings unless online.

    I remember I had issue with that online update took so long, and the 1 hour inactivity activated and shutdown console - it did not sense it was downloading system update????

    So when I turned it on, it continued. This was last fall - console had been around for three years and this kind of bugs.

    So either way, I would go into settings - if you are online, of course - and turn off automatic inactivity shutdown.

    And check out if your router gateway is on network 0,1,2....8 or something else - meaning 192.168.x.1 for gateway, where x is a number usually 0-9.

    If router is DHCP activated everything is usually automatic for Xbox to find a way. I had less issues with Xbox than PS3 I had - there I needed to go manual to get out online.

    Thanks for replying! I've already tried the Ethernet cable. Xbox support literally said to exchange it, however I've noticed that every time I get an error and restart the update I get a 1-3% increase over the last time. Which is really weird
