Day One Edition: Will I recieve a free game or Xbox Live for receiving a faulty console?

On Nov. 22nd, like anyone in the right mind, I went out and waited in line for my much anticipated console.( Xbox One... because I have taste in consoles;P )

I received my console, and initially I had no know problems with it. After about a week it started making a low key humming noise? Kind of like grinding but only when I put disc in though..

I gave it a while only assuming it was normal since it had been doing it off and on. Well then it started to stop reading the disc and the noise got progressively worse. I researched a little about the problem and found out it was a gear alignment problem
due to manufacturing mistakes.

So anxiously I called Microsoft to see if I could get it repaired and thankfully it had a 2 year warranty. A wonderful Microsoft employee helped me register my console and set it up for repair.

I sent it in on Jan.7 and it was received about a week later, I believe on the 15th.

It's currently on its way back and was shipped around 7 pm on the 22nd of Jan, central time.

It's been aprox. 3 weeks since I have had my console in which I paid half a grand for. I've read up that Microsoft has been giving out games and Xbox live to make up for the frustrations and loss of time. Is there any chance I will receive a free game as
well?

Sorry for sounding rude and demanding I was just wondering.

And the amazing support service I received was great, and I appreciate the effort put forth by Microsoft.

Xbox One: Day One Edition Free Game.

I purchased an Xbox One on Day One.

I received a message from Xbox Live thanking me for purchasing a Xbox One Day One Edition and it contained a free game code.

I can't retrieve that message

free games??

i see alot of people talking about getting free games when they bought their xbox one.is this true?? how do people get that? i have been a member for over 4 year. gs is over 40,000 and i got the xbox one day 1 edition and the day 1 edition live card and
thought i was goin to get ki for free but it was just a char.

 

For this, you will need to contact Microsoft support again to see about getting a code.

 

No you won't. The free game is only for people who had disk drive problems and did the advanced exchange. I had pretty much the same problem as you except mine came broke rite out the box with a grinding unreadable disk drive. As I could not afford an extra
$500 to put on hold for the advanced exchange I did not qualify for the apology game and had to suck it up. That's ok though as this wannabe Xbox is getting sold as it's only a pale imitation of it's older brothers anyway.

 

I had to do the Advanced Exchange, and they actually didn't put a hold at all on my card.
