Day one disc drive plays games but wont recognize a new game to install?

Its a problem that only occurs when I buy a new xbox one game.

Plays pre-issue games downloaded to HDD

Plays all blue-ray and DVDs

No error code

No grinding or clicking from disc drive

Ive also Uninstalled working games and install again with no issue.

Disc also works on other consoles

7 days to die is the currently the disc im attempting to download. plz help?

Xbox 360 wont play games (Says play DVD instead)

So I had an xbox with a broken disc drive. I decided to buy one that was red ringed and try to put that disc drive into mine. The one I bought I am sure the Disc drive works, it is only 2 red rings so it starts up, plays the game then overheats. So i took
this disc drive and put it in mine with the bad disc drive. It recognizes the drive but all it says is "Play DVD" even though it is a game.. The game is real, the xbox is not modded, what could be wrong?? Ive tried other games and no hope. It is a bare bones
xbox no hard drive. Any ideas?

 

xbox optical drive works inconsistently

Sometimes when I put in a new game or movie it wont recognize the disc. I usually have to do a full restart of the system sometimes several times to get it to work. Would this be a hardware issue or a software issue? Once it does recognize the disc it
will always recognize the disc as long as I dont take it out of the xbox even if I turn it off then back on. How long is the warranty on the xbox one? I got it on day one.

 

Get offline and try to install the disc offline after performing a hard rest of the console. For more help check this support link:

I most definitely have done everything short of factory reset.

Its only new games and its not just this disc, its ANY new to the console game

Ive asked many users with similar issues if theyve seen this happen to them but none of them have had this

particular issue, NO ERROR NO NOISE NO RECOGNITION OF DISC

Even the internet seems to have had similar, but not exactly the same symptoms.

Ive had CODBO3 since very early on and I play it everyday and no issue with the other 2 games ive had since day one. The disc works on another console as ive tested this.

Im wondering if xbox will cover a repair but its an early edition console, Day one I believe.

Sorry to hear about the disc drive troubles. It looks like M3tal Daz3 gave you some good starting steps. I see you said you have not attempted to factory restore your Xbox One Console yet. At this point, that is the next best step to try in the troubleshooting
process. You can find exact steps on how to do that in our
Factory Restore your Xbox One page. Please note that there are two options: 'Reset and remove everything' and 'Reset and keep my games & apps'. If keeping your games and apps does not work, please try a full reset.

If neither of those solutions help, your Xbox One console might be in need of repairs. That process can be initiated through the
Online Service Center.
