Day one controller USB MINI jack not working ?

Hi,

Iv recently purchased 2 play and charge kits official ones, they both work fine with one controller but neither work with the day one controller.

I then tried updating both pads and again the day one pad wouldn't even be found by the console, Anyone else having this issue ?

Also, no, previous headsets will not work with he new xbox. the controller input looks like its a mini usb pot instead of the previous jack input

In order to get the mic working you need to connect the 36" long mini jack cable that came with the headset, from the jack socket on the in-line volume control to the jack socket on the controller.

sorry to hear about your problem. Can you do a visual inspection on the USB mini jack on the Day One controller to make sure it's clean and that the contacts are not obstructed by dirt or anything else which may stop the port from working? If the port looks
good to you, it may simply be a case of it failing as these things often do.

As you're still under warranty, you should be able to get the controller replaced for free. If you haven't done so already, register your Xbox One console at:
myservice.xbox.com/.../Welcome.aspx

Once the registration is complete, return to that home/welcome page and select "replace an accessory" and then "Xbox One" under "for which device?" and follow the steps to complete the replacement. It should show a replacement option at no charge to you,
but you will have to send in your faulty controller first.

It's a strange one as it did work when I tried it a few months ago to update the controller fir the head phone adapter... It's like it's just failed and one doesn't work...

As it's a day one controller, will they change it for a new day one controller ?

 

No you will get a normal controller back.

 

Really, that's rubbish.... Duno what to do now, seeing it works fine apart from the broken usb port ?

 

Have you tried the controller without batteries to update it

 

yes usb port just doesnt seem to work no matter what i do ? Still cant belive they would send me a non day one controller back..
