Day one controller build quality

mine went out about 6 months ago...the left thumbstick would stick in the up position...

 

My "day one" was also of poor build quality. Exactly how you guys have listed it. Creaking feel and noise. Microsoft should have been embarrassed after telling us how much work went into its "new design" and testing. It's the worse build controller they
have ever produced. I've also had three others that were better but I'm lucky enough to have an Elite on day one now and I'm not looking back.

Microsoft, please sort out your quality control!

I could see the wires between the crease on my day one controller however it still works, I bought the Halo controller with the blue D-pad as a replacement and must admit it feels heavier and better made.

In my opinion, the Xbox 360 controller is WAY more durable than the Xbox One controller.

The snap together four panel design on the Xbox one is structurally inferior to the two shell "inclined plane around an axel"ed (seriously the auto censor is out of control) together design on the 360. Cheaper to make though. Both my day one and the second
controller I bought around launch time will give when squeezed along those panel lines. They feel terrible.

The 3.5mm "2nd gen" controller I got is MUCH tighter and does not give at all, along with the bumper button improvements it is a much better controller.

It pales next to the elite controller though, but that only comes out for real gaming and the kids don't get to play with it.

 

Oh, I didn't mention that my Day one D Pad is really bad and it's only more obvious now with the halo controller being allot better. In fact I'd be happy to plat THPS5 on the xb1 now.

 

My Day One Controller picked up drift a while back. Other then that though it was good, I didn't get the creaking thing.
