Day one controller build quality

I've only more recently used other Xbox one controllers and noticed how bad the build quality is on my day one controller. It creaks like crazy and if you squeeze it even slightly you can feel the quarter panels on the controller moving. This isn't through
use from release day, its been like that since the beginning.

Anybody else have the same problem or do I just have a lemon of a controller .

Left analog stick now drifts.

just bought a replacement controller for my Day One controller and the build quality of the new one is much higher. It feels way more solid.

 

Oh... controller woes....

I bought a replacement for my day one controller (dropped it my fault!) and the build quality is much sturdier.

 

^Nah mate, it's common knowledge that the day one's were poorly built, I have 3 controllers now and the day one plastic is paper thing compared to the others and creaks as you say. Mine has also developed a drift which is the first controller of mine to
ever to do so over generations of gaming.

Mine is now retired and will never be used again.

 

I must have got a good one...no creaking or other issues (yet, fingers crossed).

 

^My plastic creaked straight outta the box, give it a good squeeze and tell me that doesn't make any noise what so ever, haha, I actually have two day one consoles and the controllers are consistently bad.

I am thankful that my consoles on the other hand have been brilliant, not one issue *touches wood*

 

My Day One controller picked up drift syndrome a few months ago ..... I had to put it down. I blame click to run games as well as too much Forza. It wasn't that great to begin with and just felt sub standard, I didn't return it because they were replacing
the Day One controller with standard controllers.

That little Day One logo on the controller and the achievement are the only sign of owning a launch day console. I wanted that logo on the console as well ..... cheap SOB's.

 

I have to agree. The day one controller was and is garbage. It creaks, twists easily and overall build quality is poor.

DAY 23 controllers and they both work fantastic.

 

Ive had xbox 1 since day 1 too, but have had no issues with my controller. I've thrown it around on the carpet floor on my bed on the chair, and it still works like new. Yes the controller is kind of fragile, but it's sleek not a behemoth, which is what
I like.

I need a good reason to buy an elite controller or chop it all in for an elite console .

My Xbox had the grindy disc drive that takes about 50 inserts to load up a disc but I was too lazy to ring Microsoft in the first year. Ended up using my extended GAME warranty to sort it.

Yep, sadly that is what killed my Day One controller too

 

I will just mention as well, I got another controller a few months after the initial release and it was much better, except I've dropped it on a hard surface about 3 times and the rumble pack has come loose inside and it makes a really horrible noise, it
also vibrates like crazy too, it's going to be my gag controller when friends come over, haha, 'here ya go mate, use this one' *troll face*

What I blame is the panel design, the 360 that was two half's that made up the shell was much more structurally sound, I can't even count the amount of times I dropped one of those and they still work as normal to this day.

I'm going to try and not drop the X1 controllers anymore, but it's the dang cable from my headset that does it, when not paying attention I've basically karate chopped the cable which has sent the controller flying, really hoping for a quality product with
the elite controller.

 

I've already replaced my day 1 controller and I never dropped it. It kind of twisted apart from normal playing then the left thumbstick went. The replacement feels much better though.

 

i have only used my day one controller and it has worked great til about 3 weeks ago the joy stick has started to move it self and i have to push the A button 2or3 times before it works ... so needless to say i have been thinking about buying a new one
