Dashboard screen dimming

Hi everyone! I was wondering if there is a way to stop the screen from dimming when you go to the friends,store and holiday sales tabs. Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

Mine only dims after a period of inactivity. Sounds strange. Is the screen a lot dimmer when you go to those tabs?

 

Yeah it goes fairly dimmer one i switch to those tabs, i have a forza background set.

dont know if that makes a difference. Its definitely not an inactivity issue

 

Maybe try it without a custom background set and see if that makes a difference. I have a custom background set too (one from a Project Spark achievement) and I've never noticed it though, nor did I notice it before we had the ability to use custom backgrounds.

 

Yeah it doesn't do it with a solid color, its only when i set a custom one..any one I pick does the same thing. Its only the background dimming, not the tiles or anything.

 

If you are in the preview program... hold down the XB button on the screen that is dimmed.. select give feedback... screen shot and send it...

As for why?? sounds like it is your custom backgrounds... try using another one

 

I've just checked on my console and it dims for me too, but I never noticed it before!

Now that I look at it, I can see why it's done. On those particular tabs, there is plain white text in certain spots, so the background dims to make that more readable, while with the main home screen and the "pins" tab, it's all tiles so the dimming isn't
required.

There's no way to turn it off, but it's obviously by design. I'm surprised I didn't notice it before you mentioned it though, haha!

 

Mine doesn't do that - my background and tiles are set to the greyish-blue color.
