    Dashboard refreshing and controller disconnecting

Yesterday I started having problems with my Xbox one automatically logging me out, constantly refreshing to the dashboard, and disconnecting all of my controllers. All of the problems happen at the same time and will go on for 10-40 minutes and then go away
for awhile, only to come back again later. I started having these issues while I was installing watch dogs 2 from the disc so I did some research and thought maybe it was the disc, I took the disc out and it temporarily fixed it but the next time I turned
on the Xbox I started having the same problems. I have power cycled my Xbox multiple times and it does not fix the issue, I am honestly out of ideas on what could be causing this and how to fix it.

    :)

Disconnecting Controller? Please sign this petition which is being sent to Microsoft

There's currently a Controller Survey on the Xbox Preview Dashboard app on the console, controller disconnects are in the list.

Best make the most of the survey while available.

    Severely slow menu selection

You can also try refreshing the DashBoard in these situations.

    To refresh the dashboard:
Hold Left trigger +Right Trigger +Y.

    Hey there Ryanertel,

Sorry to hear about the random disconnects. Let's check a few things to narrow this down. Does the issue persist when using both wired or wireless network connections on the console?

Run a Detailed Network Statistics test on the Xbox One console and please provide the following information.

    • Download Speed
    • Upload Speed
    • Latency
    • Packet Loss %
    • Wireless Strength (if applicable)
    • Modem Manufacturer
    • Router Manufacturer (if being used) as well as the model number

Also, is your Xbox One console up to date?

    Here's how to check

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    2. Select Settings and the All settings.

    3. Select System and then click on Updates.

If there is an available update, you'll see an option that states "Console update available" clicking on that will begin the update process. More details on Xbox One console updates

    HERE.

Alternatively, you can update the console offline using out OSUDT or Offline System Update Diagnostic Tool

    HERE
. This is an option if you have a bandwidth limit and want to download it somewhere else and then bring it home to install in on the console.

That information will help us determine the next best steps. Thanks!

I apologize for the late reply I have been very busy. I ran the test and found all of this

    - download speed: 45.65 Mbps

    - upload speed: 6.15 Mbps

    - packet loss: 1%

    - wireless strength - 88%

    - modem manufacturer: Ubee

and yes, one of the first things I did when I started having issues was update my console. I also made sure I turned instant-on off and cleared the cache on my device which seems to temporarily fix it sometimes.

  6. Thanks for the info,

It looks like the wireless strength is less than 100% which can cause packet loss and thus can cause an issue like you're seeing. Are you able to try a wired connection to see if that helps?

    My dashboard is not refreshing

You can also try to refresh the dashboard by following the directions below:

On the Dashboard, press the Guide button (xbox button on the control), hold RT, then press Y. It should force the dashboard to refresh.

That worked for me when I saw nothing but Mazda ads.

    Xbox download speed EXTRA slow

Hi Matthew if you are still having slow download speeds. you can try refreshing the home dashboard by pressing the guide button on your controller and pressing select on the home option, then selecting the refresh option.

I also recommend rebooting the xbox one and the modem/router and have the power cable disconnected for 30 seconds at minimum and the 30 seconds will ensure that the power cycles but i would do 50 seconds

I hope this helps you and thank you
