Dashboard Preview app- HALP!!

I was having disc drive problems, I spoke with Xbox support over the phone, we tried various troubleshooting steps, none worked. I decided to reset to factory defaults, deleting everything. Everything is working fine now but I don't have access to the preview
app anymore! i called the support line and they said I should be able to find help here, let me know if there is anything to do! Thanks!

Just had Xbox One console update with no info?

If you're in the preview program, the release notes will be in the preview dashboard app. They don't announce every update publicly.

 

Unregister new Xbox preview

You will need to first post and the preview forums.

Next you need to download the preview dashboard app which was sent to all of us via an Xbox message....use this app to remove the console from the preview program.

If you never downloaded the preview dashboard app you will also need to create one post not to asking for a new token to download the preview dashboard app and then use that app to remove the console from the preview program.

 

Hi Quake! I'm not terribly certain how this works after doing a factory reset, but once you have logged in with your MS account, you SHOULD be able to see items which you "own" but which have not yet been "installed." This also applies to any digital content
you choose to uninstall - it will show up on a list where you can choose to reinstall it.

To find this, go to your Xbox Home screen, then choose "My Games & Apps." Scroll down to "Apps," and then scroll ALL THE WAY to the right side (when you get to the end, try scrolling just a bit further.) You should see a list pop up of all the items you
have "waiting to be installed." The Preview App should be on there, since you would have already redeemed the code for it and downloaded it previously.

Thank you, found it in seconds! Follow-up, is there anyway I can get another code to play the halo 5 beta? I know it is a stretch even after installing the preview program I can't get passed the menu screen.

 

Awesome, I'm glad you have it! I would try two things - first, go into your messages and find the Xbox Live message with the two codes and then re-redeem them. I'm sure it will say "this code has already been used," but that's okay, it's better to be safe
than sorry.

THEN, I would recommend a hard restart. The first time I went to play Halo 5 after installing it gave me the same "December 29" error, but I hard-reset and it immediately let me in! In case you haven't done that before, just hold the power sensor on the
console for 8-10 seconds, let go, and wait for the power brick to light up orange, then start back up. If it works like it did for me, when you launch Halo 5 and press Menu it should take you to the Message of the Day instead of the error.
