Dashboard and DVD issues

Bought my xbox just 2 months ago.

It has not been used for some weeks now, and when i turned it on today i had to uptate.

After the update, I installed blue-ray player

When I put in a DVD it start playing at about 1:20 into the movie.

Tried several other DVD's an all started playing at around 1:14 and 1:26.

Aldso when i go to the dashboard, if i go to the homescreen, it jumps right back to store.

anyone that can help me???

Xbox restarting when changing input

I use an HDMI cable for my xbox, and ever since the last "big" dashboard update, whenever i switch to another input (like television), the xbox restarts itself. It's as if it's detecting the input isn't being recieved and shutting down.

I've also had issues playing dvds on my girlfriend's xbox (also HDMI) when the screen goes dark between dashboard and dvd phases it locks up completely on the black screen.



Not sure if the issues are related, but help with either one would be greatly appreciated.

 

Old and New xbox 360

Every model, can vary in the DVD Optical Drive it has installed (Different Brands etc) & some have been known, to lead to readability issues with some games..

Normally, a simple Dashboard Update, will fix DVD Optical Drive Problems, once they are aware of the issue or it has become a widespread problem etc...

 

i would recomend reseting your xbox it may be a fault with the hardware this will probably fix the issue.

 

Factory reset did not solve the problem.

Is there a way to downgrade to the previous version, to see if that helps?
