Dash and games dont work.

Ok i have rebooted my xbox twice, once with yanking of power, once with a hold jewel and restart.

My dashboard on my x1x starts up great but all the live ads and other junk dosnt load. If i try to launch a game from a group i get a ding but nothing happens. If i hold jewel and go to report a problem it tells me collecting info and hangs indefinitely.
If i go into my library and go to the app section hoping to get to settings it shows the doing things spinner but nothing happens.

Im in skip ahead alpha, though right this moment im regretting that. This ia the second time in a week ive had a complete inability to play problem though i think the first time was just a need to update. Idk it is really irritating when you cant play
at all.

Ive now rebooted with the ethernet unplugged and i can navigate the dash just fine and even get into settings finally before it froze again, though i cant think of a setting that will allow me to play single player games that have to be online. Man i really
miss the original xbox. So much more simple and harder to break. Ah well i guess i have to wait for another update to sneak in with the xbox off to get a working x1x again.

Anyone have any ideas? So far ive tried all the standard restarts, power, hold power button, reatart from jewel.

Ok so my reset while keeping games seems to be working. I was able to get online last night and i mostly ok.

The dash is still sluggish, but otherwise no failures once all games and addons where moved to external. Just before i moved the addons, a super pain in the rump to dind btw, i got an error that wouldnt go away. 0x800706ba

I restarted and proceeded with the transfer. Now everything works as it should though its far more sluggish than it should be.

Thanks for updating us with your reply. Since you are enrolled in the Preview Program for Insiders, you may experience issues like this as you get the updates, etc. earlier than everyone else and due to this, sometimes normal troubleshooting
will not work as intended.

Fortunately, there is the Xbox Insiders subreddit as has already been recommended by our Ambassadors, but you can also report the issues you find via the Insider's Hub via PC if you aren't able to do so from the console itself. How
to provide feedback as an Xbox Insider has the exact steps to follow in order to do that. When you report issues via the Insiders Hub, the information goes straight to the devs so that they can address them as quickly as possible, so your reporting is
extremely important.

Yeah once i got it kinda booting better with ethernet i did just that and eliminated my networking as a problem. Its clear and working great, this is definitely a dash issue.

Hey Soggy.

From what I have read, your console works fine when not connected to the internet. I would first try either connecting via WiFi or a different ethernet cable. If thay does not work, check the
settings on your router, lastly, contact your service provider to troubleshoot your connection.

All else fails and you have done absolutely everything possible, and your internet is not the issue, I would format the hard drive and factory reset.

I’m sorry to hear about your issues with your Xbox Console! I understand that you’ve already tried hard reset, but have you tried to restore your console to factory settings? More specifically, I want you to try to
reset your consoles operating system (OS) to factory default to try and troubleshoot the error you’re receiving.

TIP: If you have trouble trying to access the menu for factory default, you can reset your console with the use of USB drive. See this site for details:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select System > Settings > System > Console info >
Reset console.
On the Reset your console screen, select: Reset and keep my games & apps. (Only select “Reset and Remove everything” in the event you’ve exhausted all other troubleshooting attempts).

After you made your selection, your Xbox will begin the process or restoring itself to default settings. Please let me know if this fixes your issue.
