    Dark TV Screen Issue Is Back


    With the latest update 6.2.12521.0 (xb_rel_1503.150305.1449) fre I was getting a very dark screen when the console would turn on from instant on mode. There is no way to fix it unless you turn the Xbox One off then back on. I have done a hard reset and it
    fixed the issue for 2 days. I have done the hard reset twice and the issue has come back again.

    I did submit a trouble issue through the console with a screen shot but wanted to report it here as well.

    Nhl 17 screen brightness

    So it seems like my problem is similar to the fifa 16 screen brightness issue but I have not found anything to resolve mine. Nhl 17 is darker in menu screens and during gameplay but the screen brightness is normal during replays. I moved back home from being
    gone all summer and it worked fine on the TV during the summer. When I plugged everything back into the TV I used at home Nhl is slightly darker during gameplay. And it's the same TV before I left and never had problems. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the
    game, changed hdmi ports, changed tv brightness and nothings worked. and it only effects nhl, no other games or apps.

    Live TV input to XBOX ONE looks darker than expected.

    I am having the same problems with mine and I had my connected cable hdmi-xbox one-tone-time and turned tv on and screen was dark then went cable to tv and xbox1-tv and still was dark reconnected cable-x1-tv and it got evendors darker.

    I have tried several settings and none of it work screen was still dark.

    What do I need to do about that??

    Anyone Getting a Random Blackscreen with Apps?

    For anyone looking i've resolved the problem. It has to do with the Color Space settings in Settings>Display and Sound.

    When it was switched to PC (RGB FULL) I was getting the occasional black screen on apps as noted above. In my testing i noticed this was only happening with a dark screen, I.E. a dark black loading screen or a dark area in a movie. What i can only assume
    is that RGB FULL has a black level that is not supported by the HDTV. (Note that this was tested with a VIZIO 60' LED HDTV, just for reference)

    THE FIX: Change it back to TV (RGB Limited), and if needed go through the TV Calibration to correct the color levels as you see fit.

    The issue hasn't come back since making these changes for me. Hopfully this helps anyone else that stubbles on this thread looking for a solution.
