    Dark Souls Won't Hold a Save


    What is happening is when I start up Dark Souls it shows "New Game". So cool I'm playing it and then I quit and exit the game. I head to play a different game then I come back into Dark Souls and it then allows me to load a game. Now, this changes when I
    completely shut down my Xbox One. It loads DS back up and it only shows "New Game". I thought I was good when I completely left the game to play another then back to DS to see if my save was there. It was. A Xbox One restart won't hold a saved game. Has anyone
    noticed this with any other games?

    Transfer Saves?

    Too bad when you "move" it, your Dark Souls save won't show up on the new hard drive.

    Dark Souls type game

    With all the upcoming games coming to Xbox One, are there any upcoming games that hold a candle to Dark Souls difficulty and gamestyle? I played Demon Souls but never had the opportunity to play Dark Souls 1 or 2. Hopefully Dark Souls 2 will make its way
    over eventually.

    Dark Souls Won't Hold a Save

    Hey there Kargoth05,

    Have you verified that you are connected to the Xbox 360 emulation when you begin Dark Souls? If you are only connected via Xbox One, then this would be a reason the game is not holding a save file.

    Blitz - How do you connect to the emulation? It does allow me to save to the cloud.

    Sparkle - It actually uses an auto save feature.

    When you start any backwards compatible game, press both the Menu and View buttons at the same time (Start and Back buttons). This will bring up the 360 Menu. Make sure you are signed in and it doesn't display Connect to Xbox Live.

    Should I buy Dark Souls, or Dark Souls 2?

    If you like Dark Souls games, then yes, there is plenty of things in Dark Souls 2 that make it worth the money.

    You should try the first Dark Souls as it is cheaper and the game is not for everyone, especially those who require the game to hold their hand from beginning to end. The games are not hard but unforgiving and require patience.
