"Dark Souls Six"

^I don't think it's when YOU get killed a lot, but they only have a certain amount of times they respawn once you kill them, so each enemy will only respawn 5 times for example. I didn't like it either.

Also with those long arm monsters, if you keep searching there's a way to keep them at bay, a little trick if you will, haha. ;-) and yes, there's a boss as well as a shortcut to make it quicker to the boss.

You'll get bonfire ascetic later on in the game, basically you should kill all the enemies in an area so they don't respawn and then when sitting at the bonfire throw one in and all the enemies respawn, but at the new game+ difficulty. Throw another in and
it's at the new game ++ difficulty etc.

It will also stack with each new game +, so if you move onto you're next playthrough and you've used 2 ascetic in a bonfire, the difficulty of that area will be new game +++ so keep that in mind.

Dark Souls is an Action RPG. It states so quite clearly on the English website.

Diablo 1/2/3 are also Action RPG's. It states so quite clearly on Blizzards website.

 

I assuming the boss is near the boat? I found a shortcut with a bridge I knocked over. Is there a switch to find or something? I refuse to watch a video lol

 

I find it wierd that my Sorcerer is doing better than my Warrior but now that I've picked up some better weapons they're both having a much happier time.

How do I figure out what stats I need to raise my Sorcerer's streingth to so that he can effectively wield the Fire Sword?

Is it purely strength or will I have to put something into dexterity too?

I refuse to watch a video... but I'll let you guys tell me that at least.

 

^^ not sure. I still don't have any decent weapons. You're probably way further than me. Would you not watch a video or was that a dig at me? lol. If someone says there is a switch you need to activate but doesn't where or how it's not as bad as watching
a walkthrough in my opinion.

I might watch a video at some games, usually not, but with Souls games it'd be like cheating.

 

So I actually picked this up. Before I get too far and decide I know not what I'm doing, which is probably gonna happen, what class does one recommend to start out with? What's the best gift to select at the start? Is
there anything I shouldn't do when starting a new game? (if that makes sense)

 

@ Goth, I started with a bandit. I don't think it matters too much with what you start with as you can level them up anyway you want. I may be wrong, but that's the way DS1 was. I'm not sure about which gift to choose though. I'll look stuff like that up
after I beat it once.

One thing I wouldn't do is attack any NPC's.

 

@Brand - The boss is on/inside the ship. If you've pressed the switch to bring in the ship, you should have dropped to a ledge below the platform the switch was on to continue forward it's really straight forward to the boss after that, watch that warf though,
'ambush ahead'

@Az - Levelling fire damage is another annoyance of mine as it was different in the first game, it scales of faith and intelligence, but intelligence will work better with sorceries and faith if you intend to use miracles. For the larger swords damage strength
is the way to go. Dexterity is for weapons that require finesse.

@Goth - As Brand said, it doesn't matter too much as you can level your character how you want, some classes just give you little head starts in some stats that you might desire. So if you want to use magic a character that has stats in faith or intelligence
would be the way to go. If you want to use heavy weapons, strength and stamina. Also the gifts don't give you any real advantage like some of them in the first game, choose what you think is best as it doesn't really matter in the end.

 

I'm keeping my character sort of the same as before. I just level up strength and faith. I think leveling up resistance is pointless because you can find armor to protect against poison etc.

Digital, I found the switch last night. I beat the boss and he was extremely easy. The next area Lost Bastille is fairly simple.

I've finally found a greatsword but strength needs to be 25 and I'm only at like 16. Like I said I dumped a lot into faith as there are some really powerful miracles.

 

I made the remark about "not watching a video" tongue in cheek but at the same time I don't want to watch a video for the same reasons as you.

Did have a peek at some suggested Sorcerer stats and I think my strength is good enough for this fire sword but some additional dexterity will be required.

You are much further than me I'm sure.

The most useful thing I've learned about "Dark Souls II" is that while running if you push down on the "Left Stick" your character will jump and with this you can access areas that you can't simply walk up.

 

After about 30 hours in, i absolutely love this game. it's much better than the 1st game in my opinion. I love everything about it.

The only thing I don't like is that enemies stop respawning after a while. I can only guess that they did this to eliminate farming.

After 30 hours in, I'd say I'm only about 33% done. I've only completed these areas:

Majula

Forest of Fallen Giants

Heide's Tower of Flame

Cathedral of Blue

No-Man's Wharf

Belfry Luna

Sinner's Rise

Huntsman's Copse

It's a great game. Anyone else loving it?

 

Yes Brandiesel1, Enjoying it more then Bloodborne TBH. I'm up to the ancient dragon, the dragon shrine area is way more difficult then the 360/ps3 release, I'm getting mobbed badly. Stupidly, I forgot that you don't have to fight the ancient dragon,,,,,,,,,,,,
and of course, I'm firing arrows at it like an idiot.

 

If I had a dollar for every time I've broken a weapon... I'd be rich like me. lol

 

Oh idiot me, I totally forgot about cromwell the pardoner, so I can unaggress the Dragon however from what I remember it's 1000 Souls per souls level, and I'm at about 150 so that's 150,000 souls.

@Goth - I feel the pain, did you know that weapon degradation is tied to the framerate? And it's now 60fps so things break in half the time, unless this has been patched.
