    Dark Souls reinstall will not connect to LIVE service to verify release date


    Have just reinstalled Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition, off my original CD disc. As soon as I launch it, it brings up a windows: "Games for Windows - LIVE is verifying the release date of your game". After **** around for a couple of minutes it comes
    back with this gem: "Games for Windows - LIVE cannot connect to the LIVE service. Please make sure your computer is connected to the internet". Bloody moronic piece of junk software !!!! I'm currently logged in to the LIVE environment !!!! Has anyone encountered
    this classic piece of imbecility before and has a solution ?

    For anyone else who expected to find the release date for "Dark Souls II" in this "Dark Souls II Release Date Thread" it's released in North America on March 11th 2014 with the European release being 14/03/14.

    Dark Souls 2 Backwards Compatible

    Hello Daffodil,

    The dark souls 2 scholar of the first sin is dark souls 2 definitive edition. In description states has all of dark souls 2 content released to date and much more. So the regular dark souls 2 edition will not become backward compatible.

    Although could be wrong, as there is a dark souls remastered that is dark souls 1 out for Xbox one.
