Dark Souls II - what is the state of the community?

I recently returned to playing DkS2 on Xbox 360 as I want the 100% completion. I'm NG++ and I only need the "all miracles" and "all pyromancies" and I'm done, however there doesn't seem to be many playing the game these days.

Did everyone move to SotFS? I didn't (and won't) as I want to get this done pretty quick.

I've been back on a week yet I see almost no summon signs, have been summoned only twice and have only been invaded twice. I either need 3 million souls to open the Shrine of Winter or get all four Great Souls. I don't want to go much further in as there
is little point now - all that stands before me and the achievement is opening the Shrine, nothing more.

If the community has gone, I'll just grind the souls in solitude and do it that way, but if people still play I will push on. I suppose if a high-traffic area still exists I could head for that and just keep getting myself summoned until I have what I need?

For what it's worth I'm SM 11 million (ish) and level 240 something.

I probably won't check back here all that often so if anyone wants to message/play you can add and I'll pick that up pretty quick.

is US ver Black Armor edition compatible with NTSC-J?

Its should work fine as from what I've found dark souls 2 is region free

If you thoroughly enjoyed Dark Souls, prepare for disappointment with Dark Souls II.

That should actually be its title, Dark Souls II: Prepare for Disappointment edition. The second is no where near the brilliance of the first one, in my opinion.
