Dark Souls- "Game's region does not match your console region"

Game trying to download : Dark Souls

EU console and then I have moved to the U.S., my account has been migrated and I have been downloading games for gold, starting with dungeon defenders ending with Dark Souls. Nothing has caused any trouble, except Dark Souls. "Game's region does not
support your console" was the excuse. I have contacted Microsoft support 3 times. It ended up with raising my case to the advocacy team. They will reply within 72 hours. I am certain it has nothing to do with my U.S. locale or my migration. It is something
within the console, I think that this game is region locked. Dark souls does not have a free-to-all region format, but instead it downloads the NTSC for our U.S. accounts, while our consoles are PAL based. That's the only explanation I have. I will update
as soon as I have updates.

Can't download Dark Souls via Games On Demand (Gold DOTW)

People of South Africa, I have an EU console and I reside in the U.S. , I think PAL consoles in which we have in common are not able to operate Dark Souls. Game's region does not match with the console's error.

Ok since dark souls is region locked does your account region match your actual region if not that would be why

The console must be the same region as the game. I.E. A US console in UK can't download the UK game, vise versa. The country is downloaded must be the same region as the console.

 

Okay It is now with Dishonored that it is not available for consoles in my region. I bought my Xbox in Germany and I'm living in US with a US account.

I know there's hardly any solution to this but can we get an alternate game instead of Dishonored?

Otherwise Games with gold policy doesn't make sense.

And is there no way I can play Dishonored for free now?

 

The policy actually make sense typically you don't buy a console out of region

If you want to play a localized game you must have a localized console

Or in this case an ntsc console

Account region

Game region must match

 

You can since younhav a us account you need a ntsc or a US console

Or you will continue to have issues with games especially discs since a lot of them are not region free

 

Same problem here with dishonored. I have been waiting for it since the announcement. I agree they should at least have an alternative for it. My console is in asian.

but only if you queued the dishonored in a German account while it was free. Content doesn't transfer between regions

 

Im going threw the same thing....Canadian console in New Zealand. Im able to download some games but not others......sucks.....
