Dark Souls games on demand no updates

I downloaded the game about a month or two ago when it was on sale reinstalled it to pay with friends and I'm getting same problem it won't load saved game says to update but just spins on leaving screen, what happened when they made it free?

 

Yea I have been having the same issue with the digital download. No updates and no multiplayer except with other digital downloaders

I have already found something that goes against what edgylink1 says so in my opinion there's a 50/50 chance either one is right but really hope this is 100% right. read the last post on the page 2

I find it EXTREMELY unlikely that they would publish a limited unpatched version of a game for GwG, for the negative publicity if anything else. Especially when they're trying to squeeze positive publicity out of their anniversary.

However, a telling point is that they are ADVERTISING the DLC next to the free game with gold. The DLC that currently, CANNOT be played. Every person who buys that DLC and finds out they can't use it, will appear, quite irate, demanding the problem be fixed.
And they will have every right to do so, after spending money on it, when it's advertised right next to the game they got. Bait and Switch is an extremely shady practice, that Microsoft wouldn't want to get involved in. This fact leads me to believe that they
will fix this at some point.

That said, the complete and total lack of response from Xbox Support to this topic is... causing extreme paranoia and anxiety. The fact that they have to have seen this, and haven't so much as said "We're looking into this, be patient and we'll get back
to you" or "This is the way it's supposed to be, it's not going to change" (though in that case, a crapstorm of negative publicity not seen since the PSN went down for 3 months will occur) makes me EXTREMELY worried, on the edge of outright panic.

 

^ yeah that's true though but all we can really do is just keep contacting the game developers and microsoft and hopefully something is truly being done to fix this.

Update. I connected online today, and received a 14 MB title update for the GWG version of Dark Souls. I haven't had the time to actually test and see if this fully fixes everything, but I thought I'd drop the line here for others to be informed about.

 

Didn't get an update but did get invaded for the first time today & have noticed a lot more summoning signs around so somethings been done i would say.
