Dark souls 1 backward compatibility release date ?!?

My friend and i just received dark souls code for pre ordering dark souls 3 but I'm wondering when will it be available to play on Xbox one using backward compatibility because we both own the game on Xbox 360 and have no interest what so ever to return
to Xbox 360 ever again !

Dark Souls BC code still not received

The issue from Microsofts perspective is that dark souls 1 is becoming backwards compatible for us only, ahead of time. Everyone else who didn't preorder thru xbox will still be waiting for its release date, while us preorderers will already be playing.
I don't know if they have done this before, i.e. exclusive pre-release of backwards compatibility but it's evidently pretty flawed. Hopefully the engineers figure it out soon! If everyone throws on thier name engraved ring to Caffrey maybe our luck will change!!

As a hint, write your code o take a picture of it, the messages that you receive on your console expires from 3 to 4 weeks and you will lose the code.

I waited 18 days then I receive the code. So now I actually have the code for the last 5 days..... and now it tells me that Xbox will let me know when I can use or redeem the code?

Hey, Angra Mainiiu! We have no date on when Dark Souls will be available, and to clarify, your message will not expire with the code unless you hit the maximum number of messages you can have and those newer messages push it out. As long as you do not delete
the message, you should still have it.

You will receive an Xbox Live message once Dark Souls is available to play on your Xbox One. Thanks for understanding!

Hello Daffodil,

The dark souls 2 scholar of the first sin is dark souls 2 definitive edition. In description states has all of dark souls 2 content released to date and much more. So the regular dark souls 2 edition will not become backward compatible.

Although could be wrong, as there is a dark souls remastered that is dark souls 1 out for Xbox one.

Hi Lord Cyan, if you preordered Dark Souls 3 and got a code for Dark Souls 1 you can already play it on the Xbox 360 but the only reason why it's not available yet for you to play on your Xbox One console is because it is not backwards compatible yet. They
will add it to the list as soon as it's ready, hopefully within the release date of DS3

1.) Yes. It's supposed to be given about 7-10 days after purchase although it's been delayed lately, but it's still supposed to go out before Dark Souls 3 is released.

2.) It's for the 360 version which will be backwards compatible. There is no Xbox One version of Dark Souls 1.
