Dante's Inferno not free with Gold in South Africa

Hello,

I was sent here by Microsoft Support as they had no information about this issue.

Dante's Inferno is the new 360 Games with Gold (GwG) from today 16 November 2018 - 30 November 2018. I live in South Africa and the game is available on the South African Xbox store but it isn't showing as free. What Microsoft Support could tell me is that
the 360 GwG for this period has been replaced with The Maw in my region.

There have been GwG that have been replaced in my region before due to them not being available for purchase here which is completely understandable but why has Dante's Inferno been replaced when it IS available for purchase here?

I'd appreciate this issue being looked into and corrected as I'm really looking forward to playing it.

It is frustrating for us in South Africa. We cant get certain games for gold titles as advertised.

Was the same with Hitman. I was looking forward to getting Hitman at the time of announcement. Then we get informed it wont be available for us.

Ill check with GlennZA if he can shed some light on the reasons why we dont get certain GWG titles.

im also from SA and hitman i wanted to get before i purchase #2

some other countries also didnt get the above mentioned titles

 

The reason we dont get certain titles is because of licence rights for the specific games.

Xbox live only launced in 2010 in SA. With a small cataloge of games which dante's inferno wasnt apart of.

Keep an eye out on his socials as he updates the community regarding this as he have reached out to Xbox South Africa to shed some more light into this.

 

I'm aware Dante's Inferno is available in the EA Access vault but I don't have a subscription. It's a Games with Gold this month and that's how I'm trying to get it but it isn't available for free for some reason.

 

With regards to Hitman (which I was also looking forward to) and others like Mirror's Edge, they aren't available for purchase through the Xbox store digitally in South Africa, that's why those had to be replaced with other games.

In the case of Dante's Inferno it is available for purchase digitally here so I have no idea why it's been replaced, this is the first time something like this has happened since I've been subscribed (December 2015).

I've also contacted GlennZA to see if he has any details.

 

So hopefully soon we will be able to get some news regarding this.

 

I dont have a subscrition for that.

 

I hope so too. And not just a generic response like "Some regions may offer different titles depending on market availability.", because we know that already but it doesn't apply to Dante's Inferno.
