Damaged Xbox series X HDMI port

I’ve owned my series X for less than 6 months and my hdmi port has already broke. I’ve already read that the standard warranty will cover this, but want to know how long it could take once I ship it off to get fixed? Also will I get the Xbox I purchased shipped back after repair or will I get a refurbished Xbox?

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble getting your Xbox Series X to work with the HDMI cable it came with.

Make sure the HDMI cable is securely plugged into the correct HDMI port on your TV and your Xbox Series X.

Try a different HDMI port on your TV to see if that fixes the problem.

Check for any visible damage to the HDMI cable, such as frayed wires or bent connectors. If you find any damage, try using a different HDMI cable.

Power cycle your TV and your Xbox Series X. To do this, turn off both devices, unplug them from the wall, and wait a few minutes before plugging them back in and turning them on again.

Check for any updates for your TV or Xbox Series X and install them if necessary.

A: After your console has been received at Microsoft's service center, the average time of service is 14 to 21 days, including shipping time.

A: Microsoft will attempt to repair your console, but if this is not possible, your console may be replaced with a new or refurbished unit.

The Xbox Series X will come with a HDMI 2.1 cable,

But whether you use a HDMI 2.1 cable or not, the HDMI port on the TV needs to be HDMI 2.1 to achieve the 120hz refresh rates at 4K.

using a HDMI 2.1 cable on a TV port with HDMI 2.0 will still only limit the Xbox Series X to 60hz refresh rates.

Yes, you can connect a HDMI 2.1 cable to a HDMI 2.0 port on your TV, you'll just be limited to 4K at 60hz, which is no different to what it like to play on the Xbox One X right now,

As long as you have HDMI 2.0 port on your TV you'll be fine to use the Xbox Series X, but if your wanting to experience 4K at 120hz, you'll need a TV or Gaming monitor that has HDMI 2.1 ports.
