  1. Damaged Xbox Live profile means recently played tile on Xbox one does not update - MS support ...

My Xbox Live profile seems to be damaged, and Microsoft support via chat can't help fix it. No matter what I do, 'Thief' is always in the main tile slot when I boot my xbox one up (see
Imgur: The magic of the Internet for a picture from 3 months ago).

I spent about 20 minutes working through this with someone on Microsoft Xbox support yesterday and the end conclusion is that they can't fix it.

I uninstalled Thief months ago. I've played multiple games regularly since then. Yet after every reboot, the main tile is thief and I have to navigate to the game I'm playing, even when I've launched that same game immediately after every bootup for the
    last 20 starts.

I've restored my Xbox to factory defaults. That made no difference.

If I create a new profile, things work fine, but then I lose my friends, my saved games, my history and everything else that I've spent years curating.

It's a little frustrating to not be able to fix this, given that I pay for a live gold account.

Has anyone else seen anything like this? Or does anyone know how I can speak to a person at Microsoft who actually cares enough to fix it as opposed to a level 1 helpdesk person who can only advise me to throw away 7 years of my gaming history ?

    :)

help new 360 update failed w/error code

Help, not finding anything in search. tried MS support suggestions with no help. Just bought a new xbox and have had numerous consoles so not new to xbox. selected the update after logging into profile and the console froze. I only have access to a MAC but I am sure the file downloaded from the MS site is on the USB drive now getting the same bs error code.

Damaged Xbox Live profile means recently played tile on Xbox one does not update - MS support ...

Can you try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down then unplug everything from it and let it sit for 5 minutes?

Also, if you have a friend nearby with a console would you be able to try loading your gamertag onto their console to see if you have the same dash?

  5. I've done the hard reset and it did not change anything.

I have logged in on another console and got the same dash. I played another game there, then logged out and the Thief dash remained.

This is definitely not console related - I need someone to look at my profile.

  6. Hey there, Minor! This is a really weird issue. I'm very glad that you included a screenshot, as that helps me understand what the issue is here. I am very sorry to see that all the troubleshooting you've done hasn't worked to get rid of Thief as your main
tile there. I'm hoping that I can offer advice that you haven't tried yet.

Since I am unsure of all the troubleshooting you've done, I apologize if you've already done this. Once the console has booted up and you've signed in, highlight the main tile, hit the Menu button on the controller, select Manage game
if you have the option, and then delete any saved games or DLC that you might have there. I'm not sure this will help since you've done a factory reset, but it's worth trying.

If you don't have the Manage game option, after you hit the Menu button, select Quit.

Please post back your results from this. I'm very interested in this situation, and want to make sure we've done everything we could to get you sorted out.

  7. @Misses Quinzel - I reinstalled Thief, then did manage game. I deleted all saves and then uninstalled it. I then played a number of other games.

    Thief remains the main tile.

My profile is damaged. I need someone at MS to fix this. How do I reach them ?

Logging Xbox 360 profile into Xbox One

I am assuming this is what you mean.

Back in the 360 days you were not required to have an online MS account connected to your xbox profile (it is now required with the ones).

The 360s used to have the capability of have local only profiles that were attached to the console themselves and could not get online and play multiplayer.

Again I am assuming this is what you are talking about.

The following link will bring up a support article with instructions on how to turn an offline profile into an xbox live online profile.

This does have to be done on a Xbox 360.
