DA:Inquisition Freezing

So I pre-ordered the digital DAI deluxe edition and was playing it fine all night last night. But this morning I started a second character game and now the game will not play and just freezes. At first I was able to get to play till I beat the first pride
demon and then the game loaded in the same area the battle took place but my character was the only one there. So I tried to re-load the character by exiting to the main menu of the game and loading from where I last saved but all I got was a black screen.
Now all I get is a black screen with the little icon in the bottom right corner. I hit the Xbox button to return to the dashboard and quit the game and try to start it up again but now all it does is still that black load screen with the icon on the bottom
right corner. I shut down the console and start it back up after 30 seconds and try to launch the game through My Games & Apps and it will give me the black screen and icon too.

A game you thought was going to be really good, but is crap.

To be honest, Dragon Age Inquisition was this for me. I love the DA games, but Inquisition just flopped. I had no connection with any of the new characters, the Inquisitor's "personality" was about as interesting as a plywood board, the mind-numbingly repetitive combat, and the eeennndless sidequests and very few "main" missions all made it my least favorite of all the DA games. Plus the crap they pulled with having only half of it on the 360 and then making Trespasser only next-gen available. The graphics are beautiful, but damn is the rest of it a giant disappointment. I'm afraid of what to expect for Dragon Age 4.

hey so i was having an extremely similar issue, where when i would click the menu button i would just get a black screen, so far i have gotten past it by resetting the cache, to do this hold down the power button on the front of the console for approx. 10
seconds or so, hope it helps, im starting to think its not the games or the developers but the fact that the new systems are basically 'lemons' I have played very few games that didnt have some sort of bug that we had to work around, so far the only smooth
experience i have had was with shadow of mordor, but with all of the issues with cod, halo, gta and the transfers, assasins creeds bugs, this games freezing, battle filed 4s rubber banding, the bugs in madden and nhl, all around just way too many games, especially
some of the most top tier games having issues, the only games to come through bug free have been the smaller lesser known titles.

 

I installed the game and never successfully launched it - just received the black screen. It was there long enough for my controller to shut off to save the battery. Uninstalled and now re-installing it, but I have no idea if it will help.

 

Re-installing the game froze. It froze about 47% and wouldn't move from that amount. I then cleared the cache like was recommended and that fixed my problem. It was a last resort for me because I have a rats nest of wires and if the power cable falls
down into the crack behind my dresser it will be a real chore to get the Xbox one reconnected.

 

I too had this issue and solved by also resetting the cache.

 

I bought the DAI Deluxe Ed. in December 2014 and have played it since I got it and about April 14 I was playing the game I had to go somewhere so I logged off then later the same day tried to get back to play the game and it froze after getting to the menu
and pushing continue then it had the black screen and froze my whole console I thought it was due to it being hot so I shut it off then tried the next day when it was cool same issue tried the next day and it managed to go to the screen with the cards then
just bam froze tried to day and same issue my fiancee plays this game under his account and it hasn't done that to him at all so I have no clue what is going on or how to fix it..
