D4 to Release Tomorrow

what type of game is it never played one before but i done metro games now need something to tide me over till fh2 comes out

 

It's an "old school" adventure game with a "new school" gameplay feeling.

A great (weird) atmosphere,great characters, mysterious investigations,....

Its like Twin Peaks meets Marx brothers meets Sherlock Holmes......

Just started,i really enjoy it and surprise with some gameplay mecanics.....

A weird good/great game.

(Maybe) one the best Xbox one exclusive.

 

It's a Point and Click adventure like "The Walking Dead" series by Telltale that uses using the Kinect instead of a mouse and keyboard or a controller.

The game is played sitting down with casual movements of your hands and arms.

Because the Kinect movement works so well navigation of the environment and movement of your character are very fluid. Even the action sequences flow quite naturally.

It's made by the same people who were behind "Deadly Premonition", widely hailed as the greatest budget release title ever released in the history of time.

"Deadly Premonition" played like an episode of "Twin Peaks"... it was freaky... sometimes very freaky... it was visually an eyesore yet was strangely compelling to play. Your character in the game had to eat, drink and sleep to be able to function properly
before they ever thought of doing it in "Fallout: New Vegas".

"D4" is a good looking game. It's presented in an animated style that's realistic and the character models are more realistic than the ones in "The Walking Dead" (though the characters in the "Walking Dead" series are designed to look like the character
models in the original comic book series and they succeed in that 100%).

You are an ex Boston PD detective who has the power to travel back in time. If you get hold of an item that was at the heart of a passionate event your character may use the energy surrounding that "memento" to allow him to travel back in time to investigate
that event.

You are driven by a need to resolve a crime that had a deep impact on you some years ago.

This is as detailed a synopsis as I can provide as it's very much early doors for me.

But like I said above... meeting your cat will both freak you out and make you laugh.

 

This game has my intrigued. I almost want it just so I can get use out of my Kinect so I don't feel like I've wasted my money. Also I've read about 5 reviews and they all say that the Kinect controls work well.

I like strange and disturbing stories. There looks to be a million achievements.

I do have a few questions if any one knows. How long is this game? Also, is it a complete game or is it sold in increments? I saw something about it being episodic.

 

Meh, I thought last year maybe about this Game but Kinect has proven itself to poor for any Gesture Control. My Kinect despite being calibrated at least a dozen times still fails with even the simplest gestures. I don't use it
for any of that so a Game would be no go.

I guess the 4' from me to my TV isn't enough for Kinect. Well I guess that's too bad for Kinect.

 

Lost, try the Kinect Sports Rivals demo and use subtle gestures instead of exaggerated ones and you'll see just how precise the Kinect can actually be with games (and actually is) - I think the lack of response just comes from poor design in large part to
the developers that aren't intimately familiar with the tech.

 

It can be played with Kinect or controller.Works well with each one.Problem solved.

Don't know much,right now,about extra contents and episodic releases....

I know that right now it contains a prologue + 2 first episdes.

For $ 15 it's D4 s1 (season 1,i guess),so there will more episodes to come until season 2.

From what i played,it seems quite long and rich.(But i play slowly,look everywhere,don't want to miss a thing).....

 

Geek, it doesn't work. I couldn't even finish the Gesture Tutorial on the Dashboard. That's from the Dev who knows it the best.

 

Works fine for me and I'm about 4 feet away from it.

 

I'm not all too sure if my Kinect is working probably, but I can always use the controller. These are my sort of game, something different with hopefully a unique story.

 

From what I have watched on Upload..... I'm passing..... looks lame and frustrating.....

 

You couldn't even do the gesture tutorial, Lost? Wow... That's... Unfortunate.

 

No and it's about ready to tossed out the window. The constant switching open the TV Guide when I didn't say anything of the like gets real old real fast. If it wasn't for "Record that" and "Xbox go to Insert Game Name", it would
have been unplugged a long time ago.

 

Pick this up next week $20 is good. And yes I'll use kinect..

 

That's odd, Lost - my guide never opens up unless I press X while on the homescreen... Weird.
