D-pad issues with NEW (3.5mm) Xbox One controller

Hello, earlier today I bought the new Xbox One controller, Covert Forces, with the included 3.5mm jack and revised bumpers. I noticed that the D-pad was unresponsive with some of the presses. I'll press down to navigate a menu and it won't go down until
I press it another 2-5 times. I went to the settings to check for updates and there was none. I checked both wirelessly and wired, still nothing. I plugged in my old controller and it works fine. Help?

    :)

  2. Covert Forces controller d-pad problems

I just got the black Xbox One controller with the 3.5mm, and I'm also having problems with the D-pad. If I press the D-pad lightly it won't work like it should, I have to press the D-pad 2 or more times for it to respond. I shouldn't have to be applying
a lot of pressure on the D-pad for the controller to work, the controller that came with my Xbox One did not have this problem. It seems like the new controllers with the 3.5mm headphone jack came out defective.

    D-Pad Control of Headset Audio

Using the new 3.5mm Xbox One controller without Stereo Headset adapter, I know the current method for controlling game audio is through in-game menus. Looking at new screen shots of the Fallout 4 Xbox One controller, it looks like there are audio control
markings on the D-Pad...is the D-Pad an option for controlling game audio? Link to the Fallout 4 controller:

    .... Thank you!

Sounds like you may have received a faulty controller - I would simply take it back to the shop where you purchased it, and get it exchanged for another 1.

    Hey there LML SPEC!

I'm sorry to hear about the controller issue. Do you happen to still have the controller? If so, post back as we'd like to look into this further.

    Thanks!

Yeah, I still have it. I might try to exchange it for another one. I tried a hard reset this morning and to check for more updates and nothing.

D-pad issues with NEW (3.5mm) Xbox One controller

I've posted about the exact same thing. I exchanged mine but it has the same issue. I believe this model has a flawed d-pad or is just extremely insensitive. Hopefully they can fix this via a patch.

I've noticed that the d-pad will only work 100% of the time if you press it unnecessarily hard, but if you do regular taps, like on the normal Xbox One controller it won't registrar the taps.

Yep. I've noticed the same thing. I hope something can be done about this because it is quite annoying after a while.
