D-Pad Control of Headset Audio

Using the new 3.5mm Xbox One controller without Stereo Headset adapter, I know the current method for controlling game audio is through in-game menus. Looking at new screen shots of the Fallout 4 Xbox One controller, it looks like there are audio control
markings on the D-Pad...is the D-Pad an option for controlling game audio? Link to the Fallout 4 controller:

Microsoft really screwed up, Again

The thing is I'm sure that the 'puck' is only mono for voice, when you buy swanky headsets they take the voice chat audio from the control pad but get game audio from the TV or Audio tuner etc. So you can set voice chat to come through game/tv audio so
you don't need to connect anything to the control pad at all. It's not ideal but it would be a temporary fix until adapters and new headset's become available.

they come with a connect for your red whit audio leads if you use a component cable or plug directly in to the audio jack on your tv if you have one. As for chat there is a cable from your pad to the volume control box on the headset. Both game audio and
chat audio have there own volume control there is also a mute control. I also use these for my ps3 as the Turtlebeach PBT I have has i mic input on top and the wire that normally plugs into pad plugs in there#

It appears that the controller is an officially licensed controller, but it isn't an official Xbox One controller. Bethesda has some details on the controller's features over on

their store here, which include audio control through the D-Pad.

For official Xbox One controllers, audio control is either through the Stereo Headset Adapter or through the volume mixer in settings
