Cyberpunk 2077 refund denied by Microsoft

CDProjektRed has issued a statement asking buyers of the game to get refunds from Microsoft if they feel that the game did not meet their expectations.

I applied for a refund and Microsoft said that because I played the game already, my refund is denied, stating part of their digital terms of service.

I'm following up on your refund request. We're really sorry we can't give you a refund.

Our refund policy doesn't allow refunds for digital game products that have been played or consumed. Thanks for understanding. "

It sounds like CDPR and MS didn't communicate this with each other and gamers are stuck with poor products.

Same issue. Someone from the Microsoft Support for Xbox denied me yesterday. Today, @XboxSupport tweets out that refunds have been issued to a "vast majority", but all I'm seeing in these threads are people who were denied for whatever reason.

Now because of being having the Request Denied on the Order History for Cyberpunk 2077, I cannot file another request for refund.

How are we going to get this resolved when @XboxSupport says one thing, but the people handling the refunds are denying the requests?

We were ALL cyberpunked.

Have you played for more than 2 hours? If so then that's the reason it got denied. Microsoft has a maximum of 2 hours you can play and own the game for 14 days. The latter shouldn't be a problem since the game released less than a week ago.

I got the exact same issue, its mad that they sold broken games and make it near impossible to get a refund
