    Cut scene shut down Xbox giving false positive it over heated


    Ive been dealing with this for years and it is frustrating me. Certian game cut sceens will shut down my xbox and then when it comes back up it says that it over heated which is impossible. My xbox is in very well ventalated place and only on for 2 mins
    before shut down. I even took vaccum to vents to suck out dust. This seems to happen a lot on Borderlands 3 social mode and kingdom hearts 3 cut scenes. Anyone have an idea? Ive even adjust power settings. Can i just disable the shut down? Moving gamea tominternal
    drive didnt help either

    depending on suction quality i wouldnt advise using a hoover to get the dust unless its a low suction, use a microfibre cloth or duster. a can of compressed air usually works wonders and you can pick them up from the local bargain shop for a £1.

    are you plugged into the main wall? or via extension? sometimes an extension can cause your Xbox to shut down as it can limit the amount of power supplied to the console. if you are connected to an extension try the wall and see if it changes the outcome.

    Maybe if you have’t all ready put in more of an open space so air can get to it or turn off the xbox for a day or 2 to let rest instead of trying again quickly.

    Hi AZ haxor, i would first advice to check if the cables are firmly connected. Especially the one that connect the power brick to the power outlet. Try to make sure it is connected correctly and there's no dust inside
    the connector.

    Another thing to try is to make sure that the xbox console is connected directly to a power source. Avoid cable extenders or similar.

    That said, try doing a power cycle. Turn off the console. Remove the power cable from it. Wait 15 seconds and then reboot.

    It is also possible that your power brick is defective but I'll leave that as a last option. You can try getting a new one. You can follow these steps

    here     too but if you still having issues I think you might need a new xbox.

    How old is your xbox? May be time for a replacement. You can see the status of the warranty if you register it at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/devices
