    Customer service refunded my game without my permission and now it costs more than what I paid


    I asked customer service if they would be able to refund me the difference in the Black Ops 3 sale promotion on microsoftstore.com and what I paid 3 days ago. The agent was very happy to help and offered to process a refund for the game as a one time courtesy.


    Great, my day goes on and night comes around I try to play the game and it tells me I don't own it. I check my account order history only to find that he's refunded the entire $52.78 price I paid for the game. The customer service agent I spoke to told
    me that refunding the game was against the rules but no one in customer service would be able to do anything to fix it. They told me the most they are able to offer is two months of Xbox Live which is worth less than $5.

    The game is no longer on sale for the $52.78 that I paid. It would cost me $10 more than I originally paid to rebuy the game. Customer service completely refused to correct the mistake they made. They said matching the price I had paid would break their
    rules again and breaking the rules twice won't fix the problem.

    "Kristoff: To tell you honestly, Refunding a game due to a reason of seeing a much lower price is actually not allowed. On why the previous agent allowed it would make us investigate him and have him sanctioned because of his actions. According to the Xbox
    Live Terms of Use, All items are final and non-refundable. And since the item is already on its regular price now, we need to abide by those rules.

    Kristoff: On correcting a wrong action by the previous agent (refunding the game) by another wrong action would not make us abide the rules of the company."

    Amazing policy for a company that advertises on TV "To do great things, rules have to be broken".

    Can't play online after changing my region

    Now I know that I am stupid enough that I don't read the confirmation messages carefully.

    Then what about my renewal to the live membership that is just paid today? Can it be suspended, cancelled or refunded?

    I paid 10$ for service I can't use as I am stuck in the current region for more than 2 months left.

    Is online support free, or will the customer be charged? I have a cost on my bank statement for £49.99 and it is not on the purchase history yet. Kids deny buying anything without permission. Any ideas?

    Yeah they can't really do partial refunds promotions are when they are on when they are on you don't get an extension or a rebate for not waiting

    You can only get a full refund once that's as a courteousy but it's not a normal proccess

    Technically you should be able to redownload the game

    They can't remove the game from your purchase history last time I checked

    The game is still installed and in my games but opening it says like "You aren't authorized to play this, go to store to buy" and store says pay 59.99 instead of play.

    Not much you can do to promotions are for a specific time period if you missed it it's on you

    There is no rebate or returns for digitsl downloads sales are when they are on there is no pricematcing

    I don't care at all about the price match/promotion. Had they just told me they can't price match it, that would have been the end but instead they agreed to partially refund it while fully refunding it. Now I can't even get the game for the price I had
    originally paid.

    I just want the game I had for the price I paid.

    Really sorry to hear the frustrations. I'm afraid we aren't able to assist with billing issues here on the forums. Unfortunately if a game's sale has ended we don't have the option to provide you that sale price unless the promotion occurs again. If you
    have any concerns I recommend reaching back out to phone support in regards to the refund they provided.

    That's what everyone has told me. Overall I'm pretty unhappy considering customer service *** this up but they say they don't have the power to fix it. Just not a situation I've ever seen with anything I've bought.
