    So, I uploaded a custom gamer pic through the xbox app 3 days ago and while it usually only takes 5 minutes to show up it's now taken over 72 hours. I keep seeing the"dont worry, we still have your picture. you'll see it again once we've verified
    it's ok"    message on my profile but I genuinely cant understand why it's taken this long to verify a picture of someone's face? It isn't offensive.

    I've spoken to xbox support twice. One assured me it wouldn't take longer than 24 hours and the other insisted it wouldn't take longer than 48 (even submitting a ticket directly to the people responsible for that stuff) and at this point I'm convinced I'm
    being punished for contacting them on more than one occasion and complaining.

    How long do these things actually take and could it be a bug on my end? Is there anything I can do to make this process go faster or is it literally down to whenever they can be bothered?"

    It has never taken this long before.

    Microsoft needs to make sure that custom gamerpic's are appropriate and verifying the picture takes anywhere between a few minutes to a couple days. If it is under verification, I would wait to reupload a different picture until they either accept or reject
    the image.

    You can have a custom gamerpic that is why the option is there.

    If the gamerpic is not in breach of the Terms of Service/Code of Conduct then it will not be changed.

    Only time that enforcement will change the gamerpic if it is in violation of the Terms of Service and other users have reported the custom gamerpic.

    Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are currently experiencing difficulties with being able to change your gamerpic.

    In regards to
    changing your gamerpic    , is your account an Adult account?
    Custom images are only available for adult Microsoft accounts.

    Additionally, It might take a little while for your custom picture to appear while its being verifed that it’s OK. (If it’s not, it’ll be reverted to the last gamerpic or avatar you were using.)

    Are you making these changes via your mobile device? If you are, I would encourage you to attempt to follow these steps and see if they work for you:

    1. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
    2. Select Sign in, choose your profile, then select My profile.
    3. Select Customize profile > Change gamerpic. (You’ll need to select
      Switch to gamerpic first if you’re replacing your avatar with a custom image.)
    4. Select Upload a custom image and choose one to use from your connected device or OneDrive.
    5. Select Upload.

    Give this a try and let us know if this works for you!
