Currently Disgruntled about headset options for XBOX One. Wanting opinions of Other Players

I've been wanting to purchase a new headset for my Xbox one for awhile now. I know there are currently many good options out there but I kind of have beef with some of them. I'm leaning hard towards a Turtle Beach Headset. I know they were given a lot
of privileges with XBOX One as far as exclusively making headsets for it that were wireless. My beef is there always seems to be a cost difference that's substantial or we get hosed on the models. For instance Comparably the Stealth 500p for Playstation
is priced at 129 retail and can be had on Amazon for about 109 dollars any given day. The stealth 500x is basically the same headset for XBOX one but costs 229 dollars retail and I've never seen it for less than about 183 dollars on Sale. The elite 800 Series
is the same basically 299 retail for both Platforms, however Im not really wanting to drop almost the cost of the console on a headset.

Enter my saving Grace the 420x. Fully wireless check. Good battery life check. However its only Stereo and not surround sound and still costs 149 retail. I am weighing my options thinking I might just bite the bullet and get it anyway, and forgo surround
sound to save some money.. Then they come out with the Stealth 450 for PC, that is basically almost identical to the 420X in every way except its 7.1 surround and costs only 129 dollars. Now It can be made to work with XBOX One but only if you have the Chat
adapter and or one of the Newer controllers with the built in 3.5mm Jack. This defeats the purpose of having a fully wireless Headset to me. Does anyone else think Turtle Beach has totaly hosed over the XBOX market? I mean is the Xbox chat adapter or Hardware
so much more expensive to work with that all the compare model headsets for it cost like an average of 30% more in Price except the Elite series? I just don't understand this. Why didnt they make the 420X surround sound? Because the 500x already existed?
Even So the 450 Stealth for PC and the 500p for Playstation cost way less than the 500x or the 800 Elite and basically have almost all the same features.

What do you guys like to run with and how do you feel about The Big Price Difference in TB Headsets for XBOX One vs other Platforms?

Unable to purchase Destiny: The Collection Upgrade

Hey there,

Which upgrade are you wanting? Are you upgrading from legacy console (Xbox 360) or simply wanting to purchase the Destiny: Rise of Iron expansion for your current copy of Destiny (The Taken King or other)?

From the Bungie announcements and description on the Xbox Store it would seem as though the Destiny: The Collection Upgrade is the option for legacy console owners who upgrade to Xbox One , and will be made available soon, whereas the Destiny: The Collection
option is for people wanting to purchase everything currently available as well as the Rise of Iron expansion for when it comes out, so is this the option you are wanting? Or if you are wanting the Rise of Iron expansion exclusively, there is also the option
for that.

Xbox One stereo headset not working

I am currently having a problem with my xbox one stereo headset in which I am unable to talk to other players. I am able to hear other players and game audio perfectly fine. My NAT type is open. I do not have another controller to test my microphone on.
I have had this problem twice before with the default xbox one headsets. If you guys know any solution I would greatly appreciate it.

It would be kwl if microsoft made good dolby headsets like turtle beach. Turtle beach headsets are very good but their after sales support is poor that when you compare it to microsofts customer service and support, microsoft is way better with support services
than turtle beach. However microsoft isnt into making as good, headsets.

 

My turtle beach x42 broke the ear *** hinge attatching it to the heaband broke cheap plastic. Wonder if the 500x will work with xbox 360. Turtle beach said no compatibility for the x42 with xbox one but game chatplays on xbox one because since both 360 and
xbox 1 have optical ports game sound should work on xbox 360 with the turtle beach stealth 500x.

I think its one area turtle beach needs to work on customer service. Microsoft does so internationally. Turtle beaches distributors are qvc for australia and fiveight for new zealand. I spoke with fiveight lol they have a phone number where as turtlebeach
no phone emails allow up to 10 days for reply we only respond 9-5 lol. Fiveight dont do repairs lol its sad. But australian and nz retailers do sell latest models of turtle beach and under consumer protection legislation over here if it falls faulty doing
its one year warranty we simply go to the retailer and they sort it out.

 

With the 3.5mm on the newer xbox one controllers, most pc/playstation headsets are compatible. Search around or test out headsets you have in the house. You may already have an existing headset that will work fine for you.

 

He wants fully wireless... not wired to controller.

 

I have both the 500X and 500P for my Xbox One and PS4 respectively and they are both to this day worth every cent I paid for them

 

Yep I have always had good customer service from TB, sent me new chat wire free of charge when mine broke on my first ever pair, have used them ever since with no issues.

I'm quite taken with the official stereo headset. Going to pick up my 3rd set in a min.

They've only broken due to my *** kids swinging them around, chewing the wires and constantly throwing them on the floor when told to turn the Xbox off.

Love them to death. The kids that is. Honest.....................

 

@Fear, they are good but break easy enough if you put them in a box when not in use.

Did i mention the Afteglow AG9's (only £60 in the UK) and completely wireless, and better than the MS stereo headset for not much more, but massively less than TB and other brands.

 

I wont settle for stereo headsets my parents may. My generation dolby or dts is the way to go.
