Current Xbox one Issues and Recommendations

I currently own two Xbox One consoles, here's just a few issues that i experience daily.
    1. Sluggish home navigation

    2. Inconsistent navigation

    3. Slow response time when using the menu, or double tapping the home button for a "record that" moment

    4. Controller sound cutout

    5. Controller randomly stop working, even though its connected to the console, so it indicates...

    6. When unplugging the mic, upon plugging it back into the controller, it seems that the sound doesn't want to work after the fact.

    7. Messy friend app.

    8 extremely slow loading times..

    9. Slow downloading times, I realize that's on purpose, but that should really be removed.. *cough cough* Xbox Live Team< (download cap)

    10. Extreme lang when a media app is snapped, eg YouTube and Pandora

    11. Major delay and lag in game when recording a game clip,.

Those are just a few things that I think the Xbox team could really work on, to be honest I think they should rebuilt the Xbox One's OS from the ground up and make it a bit more simple and smooth, because right now its
    a bloody mess

Does anyone else have these problems?

    :)

    direct tv not working

So, I followed the recommendations of others and reset pretty much everything, left the XBOX off for a few minutes and everything booted up and worked. I also have another XBOX on the way from MS, mine was one of the 1% with drive issues. I suppose the initial
release of anything this complex has issues, so far MS has handled my issues pretty well.

  3. Best games for autistic kids

Oh IloMilo looks fabulous. Thank you for the recommendation! My Autistic daughter's current favorite game is Skylanders. I think because in a way, it's like Pokemon in that you collect the characters you play with and each one has it's own area, elemental
    power, etc.

1st off, try a hard reset of your XB1 and router. Hold down power button until it turns off, then unplug until light on PSU goes out. plug back in and turn on... for your router, turn off (if there is a switch) unplug for 3 minutes or so... plug back in
    and turn on

the XB and its functions, especially the home screen and tiles, the record that etc etc etc rely on your internet speed and connection. If you have a weak service, it will show, If you are on wireless it will show. If you have multiple devices connected
it will show. Only things you can do is check your speeds, Maybe get a better router, faster internet or maybe try the google DNS trick (search google for the numbers).

All of the other issues are well, issues a lot of people deal with...

Id follow Tohellnback's advice and also change your power settings to energy saver instead of instant on. I find that it hasn't got many issues when you set it to power saver.

Tohellnbak, I'm finding myself having to hard reset every other day, so that's not too new to me. Its the only way I can get my controller to reconnect to the console if it forgets that its even a controller.. As for my internet connection quality its very
good with 54 megs down and 20 up. so thats not the problem at all.

believe it or not...your connectivity from your controller can be affected by many things.. even an outdated Microwave oven in ts path or area..... not sure why you need a hard reset every day... my XB has been on and when I mean on I mean not turned off...
even when my TV is off bu the XB is still on for at least 98% of the time I have owned it...

anyways.. still sounds like a ISP problem...

Does not matter what your ISP states you get on paper but what your XB is seeing IRL... extra devices, wireless all those things take away from your XB connection

tohellnbak, it's not an ISP issue. It is a problem with all of the Software on the Xbox One. My Day One Xbox One has been pretty much the OP's problems from Day One.

A simple test to see what is an "ISP issue" and what the Xbox One truly fails in terms of Software is simply have no Connection and go Offline. The Xbox One will still have many of those problems (sans anything regarding an Online Function obviously).

The Software side of Xbox fails this time around.

You shouldn't have to hard reset all the time. Xbox 1's hardware IS capable of multitasking. It's the way, cough cough, they make the software OS for Xbox 1. Xbox 1 has 8GB DDR3 RAM, DDR3 RAM despite having a lower bandwidth than GDDR5, is faster than the
GDDR3 RAM which Xbox 360 has. GDDR3 is like DDR2 level. And Xbox 360 has only 512MB of GDDR3 RAM yet the Dashboard on Xbox 360 is REALLY good and isn't as sluggish at loading messages achievements and friends list as Xbox 1 is. Granted Xbox 1 uses LIVE tiles
for the Friends tab. Xbox 1 also has a 1.75Ghz AMD 8 core Jaguar APU. Since it's much newer than the PowerPC CPU on Xbox 360, Xbox 1 is suppose to have good processing power.

Since joining Xbox 360 in late 2010, I have noticed that Microsoft DOES make changes to the UI at least a couple of times. There's nothing from stopping them from doing future slight changes to the Xbox 1 UI to help improve performance. I did a comparison
last year between the 360 and Xbox 1 Dashboard on my Youtube channel, and how 360 loads messages and friends faster than the Xbox 1 does (navigating the dashboard with the controller). So it's a software thingy, not strictly your ISP's fault.

My recommendation is going to the official feedback site and voicing it their, as Microsoft is active on this site

I agree that the Friend app is a bit clunky - but nope, none of the other problems you listed.

To illustrate a point, everyone knows how terrible Windows Vista was. My old laptop use to have Windows Vista. I installed Windows 7 on it, and the hardware was at least 2x faster and got much better performance. Start up and shutdown was far more quicker.
Far less memory hogging in Windows 7's task manager than Windows Vista. I'm not saying that the 3 OS's on Xbox 1 (Xbox OS, Windows kernel, hypervisor) are bad. But it does need improving. Say you could have Windows Vista on a PC with an Intel Core i5 of i7
processor. It's still going to give poor performance because of the software/OS than if you have Windows 7 or better on it.

smileskybird, to be honest I don't care about hypothetical situations. MS should have planned a little better for the OS of Xbox One. I don't care what they do with Windows or "if" was "where".

As I said, I feel they should rebuild the OS up to where its smooth and easier to work with, day after day i see
stutter and lag throughout the entire console alone, games work for the most part, but that's another thread.
