Commonly this error is associated with a Silver account trying to play an online multiplayer game, keep in mind that in order to play online multiplayer you will need to have an Xbox LIVE Gold subscription.



If the above is not the case can you let us know what you are trying to do when this error happens.

Just bought xbox live on my counsel and im getting the same error mesg? Other account on my xbox says the same thing and already have xbox love on that one. It says same error mesg on both accounts mines which i just bought and my husbands which he has had.

When you add Gold to your account on Xbox.com, there is a slight delay in the website and the console. My suggestion is to run a network connection test. I've read around often that this will push the Gold to your account on the console.
