Current Microsoft Processes for Gamertag and linked accounts

I have tried going through these posts as well as Google and everything I find is from 2016 and earlier; I am trying to find out if changes have been made that would allow me to do what I need to do.

I currently have 2 Microsoft accounts, one with an @yahoo.com email and one with @gmail.com email. The @yahoo.com account has the XBox gamertag I need, whereas @gmail.com account has the Skype ID that I need. I have been desperately trying to figure out a way
to get these two into the same account - I do not much care which account, I just want them both together. Simply changing my XBox ID is not an option, as the ID I am wanting to keep has no numbers or anything after it.

Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Correct, this process is not currently available on Xbox One. It can only be performed on an Xbox 360 console:

the other option is to create a second microsoft account. (don't create a gamertag on it). Take your current gamertag and change the email to link to that email microsoft account. You will now have no gamertag linked to your current profile and should
be free to start one again. Or at least this used to work. Never tried it now adays. But it should work in theory.

Your Xbox gamertag is linked to your Microsoft account, but if it was created with an old email address that no longer exists, you will need to create a new Microsoft account with your current email address and link it to your Xbox gamertag.

To do this, follow these steps:

Go to the Xbox website and sign in with your current email address.

Create a new Xbox gamertag if necessary.

Link your new gamertag to your Microsoft account.

Transfer your Xbox Live Gamerscore and Xbox One games to your new gamertag.
