Curious about what you guys do for a living....and your GO TO game

I play in a metal band (drums) and I am also a gatehouse attendant for a private neighborhood

My current go to game I guess would still be Destiny, but i'm getting Dying Light today so i'm sure that will take up most my time now.

Stuck on mostly 15.30 to midnight shifts doing a repetitive Service Desk Analyst job love playing forza horizon 2.

if you're working, then that's good enough for me. It's the people that don't and abuse the system that worry me.

In regards to one job being "better" than another though, there are numerous people who will do that and, unfortunately, there's not much you'll be able to do about it. When I first started college, I took a course in career preparation and 1 of the things
I remember doing as an assignment was ranking a list of different jobs based upon 3 things: pay, usefulness, and respect. I would then compare my results with that of the rest of the class. Naturally, doctors were put at the top of the list, teachers in the
middle, and hair-stylists and fast-food employees were at the very bottom. It was an eye-opener for sure.

 

No one should be dissed for the job they do.

 

Retired military. Worked at Kennedy Space Center as a Radar Tech for ten years until the contract went poof. Now a full time student and working in an E-cig store part time.

Don't really have a go to game at the moment. Bouncing back and forth between DC, DAI, Evil Within and Plants vs Zombies.

 

People are judged on everything, unfortunately. Not just job but appearance, weight, what car one drives, income, etc. The road to happiness is when you can be happy with yourself and stop caring what others think of you.

 

Work nights at a 'hub and spoke' warehouse for Argos (UK). Currently addicted to DA:Inquisition!

 

Yea we do have alot of benefit scroungers in the UK, so what do program makers do turn them into celebrity's by making a tv program about them. I know people that have no intention what so ever to get a job. They make up excuses like there isn't any haha
yea okay. The polish don't find it hard winds me up that I'm paying for someone to sit on there behinds and make baby's. Of topic oh well haha.

 

Server/SAN admin. My go to game has been a toss up between Minecraft and Destiny depends on my mood. I just picked up Dying light so that will likely be my go to game for the next little while.

 

Well my job that pays is in the auto industry. I work for a car dealership and do a little of this and that. Also a proud parent and that takes up much of my time. Also help moderate the forums for Microsoft's Turn 10 Forza site.

Game wise, anything really. Working on GTA, FC4, COD right now. Still have Dragon age to start.

 

I think in America you are judged way more than here in Ireland. At home in the States people might look down on you if you worked at McDonalds. If I worked there I would almost be embarrassed. Here in Ireland it doesn't seem like people care as long as
you are working. If I worked there while I live here, I wouldn't be ashamed because they would know I was working and paying taxes and not collecting from the government.

It depends where you're from I guess.

@ Blast Beats. I used to play in a metal band, but I was vocals and bass. We were death metal though. We sounded a lot like the band Malevolent Creation mixed with old school Cannibal Corpse. Good times. I still love that type of music though.

 

Our society is built on selling each other things whether it be a service or goods. In my book the guy that picks up my trash gets the same respect as my Doctor. Nothing more nothing less. Sure I may value a service one delivers more than the other, but
as People all are on the same level.

No one should be treated differently based only on how lucky you were to be born into a certain financial situation.

 

I'm a high school teacher here in the UK! I teach Design and Technology, primarily Construction and Carpentry. I have one daughter, soon to be two towards the end of February. My go to game is Advanced Warfare on the Xbox One. Got to show these kids how
it's done!

 

Sanitation workers... here where I live, they start work at 5AM and are done by noon most days and 3 the others... salary STARTS at $50K a year, and all the benefits you can think of. Once you get a job with a city, it is near impossible to loose it.
