Are you ready for the world's most powerful console? With smoother gameplay thanks to a custom 8-core AMD CPU clocked at 2.3Ghz, bigger worlds with 12GB of GDDR5 memory, life-like details with a 6 Teraflop GPU, and faster load times
with a blistering 326 GB/sec memory bandwidth to keep your gaming momentum flowing.

This guide is here to help you get the most out of the new Xbox One X with 4K goodness.

For assistance with setting up your new Xbox One X console, check out video on YouTube.

Q: How much does Xbox One X cost?

    Xbox One X is available starting on November 7, 2017 for $499 USD / 449 GBP / 499 EUR / 599 CAD / 649 AUD.

Q: Do I need a 4K TV to benefit from the Xbox One X?

No, the power provided by the Xbox One X allows developers to use techniques like supersampling and anisotropic filtering to produce a better 1080p image. Additionally, games will have the ability to run at higher framerates and with faster load times.

    Q: What is supersampling?

Supersampling is a technique game developers can use to improve graphical fidelity. By utilizing the additional power of the Xbox One X, developers can process images at a higher resolution, and then scale them down to fit the display resolution the player
is using. Supersampled images reduce aliasing (commonly referred to as "jaggies") and generally look "cleaner" to the naked eye compared to a non-supersampled image at the same resolution.

Q: What technical requirements does my TV need in order to take full advantage of Xbox One X?

For a full list of technical requirements for each function on the console, please look

    HERE
    .

Q: Will my current controllers and accessories work with Xbox One X?

All Xbox One accessories (controllers, headsets, chatpads, remotes, etc.) will work with Xbox One X. Kinect for Xbox One is also compatible with Xbox One X via the Xbox Kinect Adapter (sold separately).

Note: The only exception is the Xbox One S vertical stand, which is not compatible with the Xbox One X console.

Q: Will there be two different versions of games—one for the Xbox One S and one for the Xbox One X?

No. There will be one version of all games and they will work on all Xbox One consoles.

Q: What does Xbox One X Enhanced mean and what benefits will playing my existing games on Xbox One X provide?

All games will look and play great on Xbox One X. But select titles are optimized to take advantage of the world’s most powerful console. These games are Xbox One X Enhanced.

If a game has the Xbox One X Enhanced icon, this means developers have worked to improve an existing title, or have implemented the most recent developer tools to take full advantage of the power of Xbox One X. In addition to calling out which games are
Xbox One X Enhanced, we'll also be indicating which games will play at 4K Ultra HD and with support for High Dynamic Range (HDR).

    • 4K Ultra HD: 4K Ultra HD games must achieve a 2160p frame buffer output via native 4K or using advanced rendering techniques such as checkerboarding or dynamic resolution scaling.
    • HDR: HDR Games support the HDR10 standard
    • Xbox One X Enhanced: A developer had done special work to take advantage of 6 teraflops of power in Xbox One X. Enhanced features will vary by game.

For more information about Xbox One X Enhanced titles, be sure to check out the Xbox One X Enhanced website

    HERE
    .

Q: Will Xbox One X support Mixed Reality?

Microsoft is committed to delivering great mixed reality gaming experiences.  We believe that right now a Windows PC is the best platform for mixed reality as its open ecosystem and enormous installed base offer the best opportunity for developers, and Windows
offers the most choices for consumers. Therefore, our primary focus is making our Windows Mixed Reality experiences a success.  We have games from Microsoft Studios in development for Windows Mixed Reality, and several game developers are working closely with
us to bring their titles to Windows Mixed Reality.  Because of the opportunity with Windows Mixed Reality, and because we believe the user experience will be best on PC right now, that is where our focus is currently.

Q: How can I get ready for Xbox One X and the Xbox One X Enhanced games?

You can pre-download 4K assets for many Xbox One X Enhanced games ahead of launch. After-all, on November 7 you’re going to want to soak in the Xbox One X Enhanced glory with zero delay.

Simply go to Settings, then System, and finally choose Backup and transfer.

You’ll see an option for Download 4K game content right here. Simply tap A to check the box. You can also go to Settings, System, then Updates and check the box for Keep my games and apps up to date. That way the 4K content will download on its own as it
    becomes available.

Q: How will I transfer all my games and settings to an Xbox One X?

Any Xbox One stores your game saves and account information in the cloud, so when you buy a new Xbox One console, all you have to do is log in with your existing account and re-download any games or apps you’d like. All your progress, achievements, friends,
and profiles will move seamlessly to your new Xbox One X (or S).

If you use an external hard drive, the process is even easier and will save you the download time—simply move your games and apps from the internal hard drive of your old Xbox One to the external drive, then plug it in to your new Xbox One X.

Q: What about transferring my account and settings? Is there an option to Backup and Restore?

Absolutely, simply go to Settings, then System, and finally choose
Backup and transfer. Here you’ll see Back Up My Settings. This will allow you to transfer your account and key system settings, such as notification preferences, over to your new Xbox One X. If you enable this feature, your settings will be copied to
a hard drive. Simply have that hard drive connected when you fire up your Xbox One X for the first time and you’ll be able to import your settings.

Q: What about transferring Games and Apps? Can those be transferred without redownloading everything?

Yes, under Backup and transfer is the network transfer option. This feature allows you to copy games and apps from your current console to your new console using your home network. You’ll just need to be sure both consoles are connected to the network.
And don’t worry, because the feature uses your local area network, it won’t use any of your internet bandwidth.

Q: What about External Hard Drives? Will those work on Xbox One X like they do on Xbox One and Xbox One S?

If you have a supported external hard drive (USB 3.0 with at least 256GB of storage), we recommend that you use that to transfer games over to your Xbox One X. If they’re on a hard drive, you can just plug it in and away you go to far off lands of Xbox One
    X Enhanced splendor—no waiting required.

In the recent 2017 Fall Xbox One update, the team has enabled bulk transfer across storage devices. Simply go to
Settings, System, and then choose Storage.

From here, you can choose which drive you want to manage. In this case, choose the Internal drive. From here, you can manually select what you want to move or copy, or even better, you can choose Select all. Once you’ve selected
the games and apps you want to manage, you can choose to Copy or Move them to the supported external drive of your choice.

By using these great features, you can help ensure the quickest possible path to enjoying Xbox One X with the games, apps, and settings you want.

Q: Where can I find all the details about Xbox One X Enhanced games and what they might support on Xbox One X?

For a comprehensive list of all games that will have Xbox One X Enhancements, please look

    HERE
    .

Q: Do you have any more information on the technical specs of the Xbox One X?

For a more detailed look at the Xbox One X console and a list of features and capabilities, please take a look at the Xbox One X overview page
    HERE.

Q: Will all my games and Xbox Game Pass work with an Xbox One X?

Yes, all Xbox One games (including Xbox One Backward Compatible titles), Xbox Game Pass subscriptions, and accessories will work with an Xbox One X. In fact, with the increased power of Xbox One X, many games will achieve more consistent frame rates, faster
load times, improved anisotropic filtering and will run at peak resolution if the game features dynamic scaling.

Q: Can I bring my Xbox One X into the Xbox Insider Program?

A: Yes! Whether you wish to join as a new Insider or are already an existing member of the Xbox Insider program, enrolling a console such as a brand new Xbox One X is easy. Search the Store for the Xbox Insider Hub and install. After launching the Xbox Insider
Hub, select Insider Content and choose the "Xbox One Update Preview" tile. From there you'll be able to enroll in a Preview Group by selecting "Join" or "Manage." For more details, check out:
