Cuphead Launches and Crashes

I started playing cuphead on windows 10 a few days ago. When I got it, it was working just fine. The next morning, it wouldn't even finish launching. I open it and it shows the yellow opening screen, but that's as far as it goes before closing. I've searched
around my files and can't find a single cuphead file anywhere, not even in the Roaming folders. The microsoft store says I still have it though. How do I go about fixing this?

Cuphead won’t launch?

Good Afternoon Everybody,

I experienced an issue similar to this. It helped me when I cleared cache and turned the console off completely. When I restarted it worked fine.

Xbox play anywhere

I'm not sure whether this will help, but just to troubleshoot so as to isolate the problem, can you turn off your Wifi on your PC or if connected via ethernet disconnect the cable and then launch the game. I'm just trying to check whether it crashes while
trying to sync game data from cloud.

Also, it may sound weird but during initial days there were similar reports of crash for Cuphead and some people just kept on trying to launch it 5-6 times and it eventually launched.

And, if you want to give one more try at reinstall, can you try installing it in another drive or partition if you have one?

same problem here too... Its really anoying. I just dl the game this afternoon, played 1h and had to go. I come back try to relaunch the game aaaand... just the yellow screen "Cuphead don't mess with the devil".

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart
the console.

That's a great game when it does happen to launch normally.

For issue with any game not launching appropriately, it's best to go ahead and start off with the troubleshooting steps outlined in our support article entitled “My
Xbox One game won’t start or freezes during gameplay”.

Give those steps a shot and let us know how that helped in resolving the issue

Do a Power Cicle on your Xbox, oress and hold Power Button for 10 seconds and wait 2 minutes then turn Xbox on again.
