Cuphead glitch at Press Any Button

When I open Cuphead, I'm able to reach the title screen where I'm prompted to 'Press Any Button'. When I do press a key, what I assume to be an Xbox Live sign-in window pops up, saying 'Please wait...' under an Xbox logo. The window disappears after one
or two seconds, and I am still on the title screen. I have restarted the game, reset the game, used wsreset.exe, restarted my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled, and nothing has worked. Before I had this problem, nothing even happened when I pressed a key
but now it has decided to give me an Xbox-related window. What is the window that appears and how do I get around it?

Have you logged into the Xbox App and tested that you're able to successfully log in there? Depending on what version Windows you're on, it might be the Xbox Console Companion, but would still be able to check if you can sign in. In the app, there is a
Settings tab, and a Network page you can go and check the status of your connection to Xbox Live on your computer, providing information if there are any port issues or Teredo Tunneling issues.

Please let us know what errors it's showing or if it's showing that it's good, and we can provide the next best steps to troubleshooting this issue.

I am indeed PC-based, however I actually don’t own an Xbox... I’m signed into the Console Companion, my OS is up to date, and I have tried opening the game inside the CC app, but to no avail.

On startup, I reach the title screen and press a key, then the window appears for a moment and disappears. After this the window does not come back and pressing a key again does nothing.

I hope this info gets us closer to a solution; thanks again for your help!!

I must say, I thought that was a joke that you could play Cuphead in a Tesla lol. ^.^ I laughed pretty hard at that lol... xD

Great news! After resetting Console Companion, Cuphead and Xbox Live in Apps and Features, I was able to get into the real menu without a sign-in window appearing, and my keyboard was registering inputs. Unfortunately I tested this minutes before I had to
leave the house for rehearsals so I only got as far as the menu, but everything does seem to be working as intended. Many thanks for your help in solving this, I’ve been looking forward to the game for ages now and I’ve avoided a big disappointment! Heres
hoping that the game runs normally past the menu!
