Crucial 1TB SSD X6 is not being recognised as storage for games on my Xbox series X

Hi All,

I have recently bought a Crucial X6 1TB SSD to expand my game storage on my series x for my Xone games. The SSD came witha USB C to USB C cable, but as the series x dont have a USB C port I used a different USB Cable that I found aroud the house. When I plug it in it recognises the SSD however as a media drive and it doesnt give me the option to format it gor game storage.

Could it be that the drive is not compatible or is the cable that I am using an issue?

Hi,

The cable you found maybe too slow. It needs to conform to USB 3.1 speeds. Crucial sell adaptors for their drives which you can find on their website.

Should be noted non xbox rated nvme drives only can be used for BC and xbox one titlew not series x

Should be noted that series x games can be downloaded onto non velocity drives HOWEVER they have to be moved to a velocity drive to run

Thank you, yes I have read that is the case, have to make some space for the series x on the main drive
