crossplay using family/ child accounts

when will microsoft fix bug preventing crossplay?

i was following another thread on this issue but it was closed down and we were told to start another thread?

I have switched the settings on the website, it still didnt work.

 

just heard from epic that they are releasing an account merge feature in november - this will allow those of us affected to merge the affected family accounts with other accounts without loss of purchased content - this will hopefully give us more options
while microsoft are making no progress with this bug?

Hello friend. Sorry for the inconvenience, all Microsoft accounts that are adult accounts should be eligible for cross play. The only accounts that have restrictions are the Microsoft child accounts. This is not a bug, Microsoft intentionally set up this
barrier for many reasons and plan on releasing a solution to change that option soon. As you know gaming on a computer or pc has different advantages than a gaming console and all children's accounts have been set up with maximum security to protect our younger
customers while they game online.

thanks for your response Aaron - do you have a rough idea of when this will be available? - its a shame for all the kids caught up in this and it would be great to be able to reassure them that this has some kind of priority with microsoft

Thank you for keeping up with us. We do not have an estimated time frame on this issue at the moment. As soon as we find out more information; we will update everyone on the forums about this issue. Keep an eye out for our response as we are diligently working
on allowing parent accounts to manage cross platform play in the parental settings.
