crossplay on child account

I have switched the settings on the website, it still didnt work.

You can play with people outside of Xbox Live
Decide to allow or block multiplayer gaming on other gaming services.

BUT it was already on ALLOW and does not help anything

That is why we are looking into this, the update notes say the change is there but its not. Also, read on website they are aware of the issue with it not working and working on it.

I have the exact same option ON and still not working. Hope MS will fix this soon.

Sorry for the miscommunication, but the most recent update was for "Keyboard and mouse, Cortana and Alexa....Etc. (More information on the recent update:

November 2018 Xbox Update Rolling Out Today)

There will soon be a new update available that will enable the "Cross-platform" options, but as of right now it is unavailable.

This is how the steps will be: (At this moment it will not be effective)

Windows 10 (The option is available on Website but will not be effective)



1. Log into Xbox.com with the parent account.
2. Click the player icon in the top right to show the menu and click “Xbox Settings”.
3. Click “Privacy & Online Settings”.
4. Click the child account.
5. Adjust “You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text, allows voice and text chat.
6. Scroll down and click “Submit”.
7. Scroll up and click “Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety”.
8. For “You can play with people outside of Xbox Live” click “Allow”.

9. Scroll down and click “Submit” again.

Xbox one (Option is not yet available on console)

[*]On the console go ahead and login to the Parent account.

1. Go to Settings
2. Click on Account
3. Click on Family Settings
4. Manage family members
5. Select the Child account.
6. Click on Privacy & Online safety
7. Click on Xbox Live privacy
8. Then select View details & customize
9. Select Communication & multiplayer

Once you are under these settings you will see options for the Cross-Play. Make sure that under "You can play with people outside of Xbox Live" you select to Allow. And then of course so that they are able to communicate you would go over to the box labeled
"You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text" you select Everybody.

Please keep an eye out for the next console update and check out those settings soon after.

(Keep checking for updates on your console under: Settings> System>Updates> Update console<)
