Cross play Minecraft

Searching the web I have not come up with any solid answers. I might not even be in the right place to ask this question but if someone could help that would be great. So to give you a run down I have the windows 10 edition of minecraft on my pc.(not the
java version) My friend has the minecraft bedrock edition on the ps4. I know cross play can possibly happen. We have added each other as friends, it shows that on my xbox account. And when one of us is in the game it says we are playing minecraft. So i know
the accounts are hooked up correctly. My friend has created a multiplayer world with their ps4 version, i want to join their world, but when i click on friends the “find cross play friends” button is not there, also it says that there are no friends online.
On both my microsoft and xbox accounts the settings are set to allow me to receive invitations and allow multiplayer to happen. I know my friends multi player server is set up correctly because there are more people that can get on the server. To sum up the
questions I have I will ask them now. Why is the cross play friends button not showing up on my pc version? Why does it say there are no friends online even when i have friends online? Why can i not receive invitations sent from my friend on the multiplayer
server? Is there any way a pc minecraft bedrock edition can join a ps4 multiplayer world, because I have tried so many things and nothing is working? I am sorry this is long i just want to add as many details as i can to try to explain my situation.
