Cross-Platform Restrictions and Xbox App not working

Hello.

I created my son an account but it is restricted on Fortnite. I was just wondering, how do I change his account to an adult account? Or how do I make it so he's not cross-platform restricted,?

Also, the Xbox app on his phone always keeps removing him from his friends' parties randomly.

Xbox One can't chat with Xbox 360.

There are no plans for cross console chat support and you can find it on many news sites -

Microsoft have other things to concentrate on adding to Xbox One without adding cross generation chat. If you want cross generation chat use the Skype app on both consoles.

As of now, cross platform play is disabled for child accounts. We are currently working on a feature which will allow parents to better customize restrictions on child accounts. As soon as this is released, you will be able to enable or disable cross play.

Chris here from Xbox forums support. I understand at this time, cross platform play is disabled for child accounts on Xbox live.

Im not sure if this is by design. It seems like this is only affecting child accounts on xbox, so it could be subject to change.

The child account would have to graduate naturally to an adult account in order to cross play on Fortnite. A secondary adult account could be used to cross play if you would like, A second gold subscription would not be needed. Please refer to "How
to designate an Xbox One console as your home Xbox" for steps on sharing the gold subscription with the rest of the console
