Last night's GDC, it wasn't a direct no but it was enough of one to suggest Sony aren't interested.

Reality is they are winning and have no reason to allow Xbox to play with them. Why give people a reason to stay on an X1 if all their friends switch to PS4?

Ironically if roles had been reversed and MS put out the same press releases Ms would be crushed in the press for it.

Both companies will allow crossplay with the PC because it isn't seen as a competitor to their consoles.

Crossplay with Xbox One and PS4 though is a different matter. They are direct competitors in the marketplace and need reasons for a person to pick up their console.

Sony are the market leader at the moment and have the larger player base, allowing crossplay with the Xbox One just gives people a reason to stay with Microsoft's console instead of picking up a PS4 to game with their friends.

Just as exclusive games give people a reason to pick up a console, so does the way to play them with your friends.

Knack is a great game. It's quite long though so Az would never get through it. That said he would still write a mini review after 20 minutes saying it's terrible because Sony.

i would personally love the idea of this. but i want to know, i have friends on ps4 that i missed. i would want them on my friends list and be able to communicate with them. how could this be possible? if this all happens it would be the biggest gaming event
in history. well that is my personal opinion.

Can this be verified by a Microsoft Xbox One rep is the real question.... And if so when, and what games? Would it be popular games like, Call Of Duty, or The Division? Ok that last half was me fish'n No but really... Can we get a represenitive from Microsoft
to verify this?

There are a load of *** going around about cross play, and people fall into it, all this stuff about graphics and exclusives, its a load of tosh.

Another one sided article by forbes IMO, don't know why i bothered tbh.

If your waiting for a game on RL you can go into the menus and train and play while you wait, very clever design.

Two things that stand out to me about cross play are cheaper for developers as they only need servers for 1 system, instead of 2-3-4, and a bigger player pool, neither of which any article actually focuses on.

Since I mostly play MP games I for one don't want to see this. Since I am in the US and the majority of Sony's base is oversees I already see enough OOR players on US servers and don't need to see anymore.

Actually, this doesn't make sense for the xb1. Let's say you've got friends on XB1 but buy most of your cross platform games on the competition though a few common ones you still buy on xb1. If there's x platform gaming happening than you can buy whatever
version you want. Example being the division, I stupidly bought the ps4 version knowing I'd get better parties on the XB1, I'll probably get the xb1 version now though only for that reason. No, it doesn't make sense, I think Phil and MS need to stop talking
possibilities, Agree that XB1 is a great machine as it is now and seek out developers for future titles.

I can see this going one of two ways.

1: Sony just don't do it, it doesn't make any sense from a business perspective one of the reasons its still running away is because its reached critical mass, people are buying to play with people who have it.

2: Sony do something but not alot, like cherry picking game's for cross play that wont really impact them.
