Cross Platform games.

Looking back to the days of Shadowrun, crossplatforming with Vista users, it was truly revolutionary.

I understand PC games get faster patches and such, but how about when their versions are synced...enable crossplatform play...

I understand why PS4 and Xbox won't do it...but PC and Xbox seems like a no btainer.

I predominately play Warframe, which is PVE, as are some other titles.PvP would be more difficult to accomplish. which means that the mouse & Keyboard vs controller argument is void

That's my guess, a few of those EA games could be timed exclusive for the XBOne and most of them will make limited use of the kinnect too.

 

Not All Games With Gold Backwards Compatible?

Ms will support cross platform gaming on cross platform games o. Pc Sony only supports cross platform games via pc and ps4

Ms wants xbox pc and ps4 if sony aggrees

 

There is more and more integration across platforms now with tablets and phones and consoles. But a Games for Windows to Xbox-type experience is always going to have holes in it. For a start Microsoft have shown they can't support a PC digital distribution/multiplayer
client. Secondly the go-to multiplayer games are often shooters, and the precision twitch of mouse and keyboard versus the slow a-s-s, assisted, no-skill (or at least different skill) aim of consoles just doesn't jive.

PC wins all the time. lol The control method is just better. Even if the game was PvE the leaderboards would be stacked with PC players, and I don't care how nice a community is... there would always be division between platforms. PC elites... versus consoletards
or whatever. There's enough vitriol on Live servers in shooters as it is. Heh.

Also... and this is entirely IMHO, only a Steam-based crossplatform experience will fly. Because the Internet hates Microsoft, and it does a great job of surrounding any Microsoft brand with a long shadow of negativity, until even people who haven't touched
the product or software in question immediately think of the negative things they read online instead of thinking, 'I'll give that a go!'. lol

I maintain this is because Microsoft doesn't attach the friendlier elements of its divisions to its brands. IE Major Nelson is much-loved and gets all the love for announcing freebies, and events, and updates. All of that could be done under the Xbox brand,
with a few friendly community faces from the Xbox division (there must be some young guys and girls there doing good work who could help the Microsoft image and brand). Sony uses twenty-somethings dressed like grebs for its pressers. MS uses an old guy, and
a bald Scot.

I mean, Major Nelson even has his own logo, he's separate from the brand. Doing more harm than good IMO.

But yeah, if you could come and look at how I supported GFWL just by glancing at my library of GFWL PC games... you'd know how disappointed I am that that whole idea never really got off the ground. Hell, MS and third-party publishers didn't even support
the achievements on the client. People like achievements! Yeah, even the Steam fanpeople who chase them now, and who once hated GFWL for having them. lol
