Cross platform/ Cross Save

Ok kinda weird question, but if I were to deactivate an account , and I had cross save on like destiny supports, once my account were to get fully deleted I’m guessing Microsoft can then reuse the gamertag, what would happen if someone else used that gamertag that I previously owned and had enabled with cross save? Could they get access to my content? Sorry if this sounds confusing.

No, they won't get access to your content. Once your account is deleted, the gamertag is wiped clean. It'll just be like new and your history won't be associated with the new owner.

nothing as destiny cross saves with various platforms using the actual login, so it would use your microsoft account and steam account etc, not the gamertag name.

Ok that makes sense, but how would destiny server side know if an account had been deleted?

Well it is cross save compatible just not in the way you mentioned

Play anywhere title only apply to Xbox platform not steam

Also cross saves usually only apply to same platforms with the rare exceptiOns of certain titles

Steam saves are steam saves and Xbox one's are encrypted

However.achievements do carry over

'Forza Horizon 5 will support cross-play and cross-save across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10 PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Steam will have support for cross-play, but cross-save with Xbox is not supported.

There is no way to do so. As stated, platforms are not cross compatible. Steam is a platform, the Windows Store is a platform, Xbox is a platform, Switch is a platform, none of them cross save except in very rare cases
