Cross-Platform can't be enabled on Child account

So, with an exited child trying to use his keyboard with FortNite, he is disappointed. For some reason Fortnite requires "Cross-Platform" play enabled on his xbox live account. Everything I've seen on "the web" indicates that because he has a child account,
that he doesn't have the option to turn that on. However, I'm the parent account holder. I also don't see a way to allow my child to use cross-platform.

This is not a FortNite issue. This is an xbox live - content restriction issue.

    PLEASE HELP!

    :)

Cross-Platform can't be enabled on Child account

    Hey there EMSGeek,

Sorry to hear you are running into these problems. In the most recent update there was an option added so that you are able to manage the permissions for the Child account to allow Crossplay.

    • On the console go ahead and login to the Parent account.
    • Go to Settings
    • Click on Account
    • Click on Family Settings
    • Manage family members
    • Select the Child account.
    • Click on Privacy & Online safety
    • Click on Xbox Live privacy
    • Then select View details & customize
    • Select Communication & multiplayer
Once you are under these settings you will see options for the crosslpay. Make sure that under "You can play with people outside of Xbox Live" you select to Allow. And then of course so that they are able to communicate you would go over
to the box labeled "You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text" you select Everybody.

This should give your child the permissions to play with his friends on different platforms.

    I hope this helps!

  5. I don't see this setting for any of my children, or for myself. The only four settings I see under "Communication & multiplayer" are:

    - You can join multiplayer games

    - Other can communicate with voice, text, or invites

    - You can use video for communications

    - Other can see your activity feed

The steps posted above by "XBF Erick C " will be the steps to take, so please keep an eye out for the next console update and check out those settings soon after.
