Cross-console GAMING

With the announcement of Xbox Live backward compatible that means that the Xbox one will be running the Xbox 360 simulation software on the Xbox one. Since it is running emulation software, on much better hardware, it should be now capable for us or
be able to play with players on the Xbox one with players on the XBOX 360 since they are now essentially using the same operating system and the same game code (identical, no reprogramming needed). Anyone who tries to tell us different, usually has a different
agenda like marketing department. This is apparently evident by the library list of available backwards compatibility library. Isn't it strange that the only ones that are ready are some of the first titles released when the Xbox 360 first came out.

It would be cool if XboxOne and Xbox360 could play across consoles. Say COD Ghost for example. At last I am sure it will not happen, but it would be cool I think cause it will be a while before people upgrade to next gen.

they should do it. i know when they demo'd defiance they had PS3, PC, and 360 people all playing with each other on the same server

 

If you're playing an Xbox 360 game on the Xbox One, you can already play with people who are on a physical Xbox 360. I believe you can also start and join Xbox 360 parties from the Dashboard. (The option for parties was there but I didn't try it.)

With the exception of World of Tanks, what you can't do is play multiplayer between the Xbox One and Xbox 360 version of the same game.

 

Except they aren't using the same game code. One was programmed to run on the 360 and one was programmed to run on
the One.

It's not really that strange. The majority of the games listed for BC (currently) were published by MS, so they own
the rights to those games.

 

And that is the problem I am trying to address. With the emulation software running on the Xbox 1 (X1) the same operating system that is ran on the Xbox 360 (X360) and same game code that usually all game developers use to make games. Ironically enough,
they have to be supplied the code by the console manufacturer (Microsoft). That means that all access ports that allow us to matchmaking are identical code. Therefore it should allow access to game developer's server from both X1 and X360 since all type of
internet data exchange is identical. Then no matter what console you use as long as it is Microsoft it should all work properly. If they was smart they would jump on this idea and save a lot of jobs by extending the lifetime of the X360 and X360 game market.
Not only that but Microsoft would have the biggest influence (almost monopoly) on the gaming industry. If it doesn't already, THIS would be the "Final Nail in the Coffin" kinda.

 

On individual games you are correct those games are made specifically for each system. The point I am trying to make is only about being able to play matchmaking X360 games with X1 players. So if your a developer you can even release a game on both consoles.

Also that makes sense about the library list of games. It would seem only right to claim backwards compatibility and not have any hard evidence to support that. Hence, since they own the rights to those games that they would be released first.
