Crew pack subscription causing battle pass purchasing issues!

My 2 boys play fortnite on Xbox. I'm the owner on the microsoft account. My one son uses my adult profile to play while my other son uses a child profile under my control. On October 30th, I purchased the Fortnite crew pass for both of them as a gift but I cancelled the automatic renewal on the subscription as I only wanted it for 1 month. That worked just fine. However, this week both my boys attempted to use their v-bucks to buy this season's battle pass. The son that uses my profile had no issue but my son with the child profile isn't being permitted to buy it. The exact error message is "Your Fornite Crew Rewards are temporarily on hold as there was an issue processing your payment". I temporarily turned off the "parent-approval" option on his account but that did not solve the issue. What I can gather is that his system is trying to purchase the battle pass through the crew pack but won't allow him because I've suspended the monthly renewal since i only wanted it for 1 month. Why does cancelling the crew subscription prevent him from buying the battle pass with his v-bucks (He has $1000 v-bucks)? I contacted epic games and they spent 3 days trying different things. Finally, I was told that the issue is with Microsoft and that I need to fully cancel and delete the crew pack from my account. How can I do this? Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
